What can I do to unclogged milk ducts (breast feeding)?

Having trouble breast feeding my newborn - my milk ducts are clogged and I'm very engorged and need help ASAP.
Thanks in advance.

Answer:
Take a warm shower and express milk by hand by pressing from the top down to the nipple.
put cabbage leaves on them...no joke...worked for me!
have you thought of a breast pump? They could exert some suction pressure which may be enough to unclog your ducts.
IM sure I am a repeat, but ive had a few bad ones as I nurse my 4 month old still. Warm water compresses always help, but the one thing you HAVE to do is FEED off that side. YOU MUST, or it will only get worse. I know it hurts like nothing else, but it will just continue to get clogged more and more if you dont. Massage it, and take a shower and feed feed feed, maybe even more then you normally would. This has helped me everytime, goes away in a day or 2 tops! Good luck mommy !
I think the answers that have been provided so far are great and I am soooo impressed that it has been men that have answered some of them!
get a hot compress and place to your breast several times a day. allow your baby to feed from the clogged breast first (don't forget the other breast or the same will happen in that one too) while baby is nursing massage the clogged area toward the nipple. make sure u are feeding regularly as this is common when u miss a feeding. make sure u massage and apply warmth throughout the day. if its gets really bad and is red call your doctor quick so an infection does not set in. this happend to me for each of my 3 babies. my youngest is 9 months and i am just in the habit now of massaging my breast while she feeds to make sure it doesnt happen. clogged ducts are soo painful!
My doctor told me to put cabbage leaves on my breast to relieve the pain and unclog the milk ducts. I also found that pumping the milk out by hand helped. Use warm towels on your breasts also.
Yes you need to take as warm a shower as you can and let the water go right on them (even if it hurts) and also put a really warm cloth on just begore you feed the baby to get things flowing good.Make sure the baby is latching good so the baby gets enough which in return helps you.Good luck hon and try not to get discouraged.
i feel ur pain, take a very steamy shower/bath this will allow the ducts to unclog, for me pumping was more painful, offer it to the baby instead, massage ur breast in ur warm shower, buy lanolin over the counter cream for breastfeeding mothers instant relief!!!
Use a breastpump to unclogg your milk ducts. It's truly painful but you have to do it.its part of the sacrifices of motherhood. Once the milk start flowing you will experience a big relief! You have to believe me on this one.

When milk begins to flow let your baby suck your breast. You do it everytime you feel that your breast are engorged. Its your body signalling that you need to feed your baby. Do it and you will fill so fulfilled..Mother's milk is priceless. Don't waste it.

Goodluck.
Hot showers or compresses. I have a website with some tips. Hope you can get relieve quick.. good luck.
You can buy or rent a hospital breast pump; they have the best pressure and it could unclog those ducts. A home remedie: pour milk in a small cup, put half of limon in the milk, after put the milk on a napkin and apply it on your breast. This worked for me!
