Hospital bill?
Answer:
military answer is wrong. we are navy and we paid $28 for our son and an additional $3 for my hubby's celebratory meal. hehe. basically they make you pay for food. oh if you are thinking of it check into your insurance because some make you notify them 6 months prior to 'trying' else they will not pay for it. (they want time to raise your premium)
I dont know..but I am due to have my first child in Feb..so I am quite sure I will find out...
About 2-3,000 bucks.
Do you know i was flown out twice by helicopter when i was pregnant for pre-term labor to a better hospital. The city i was flown to was about an hour and a half drive but by helicopter it only took about 15-20 minutes to get there and guess how much they charged for that helicopter ride?
$15,000 dollars
With my son I had complication after complication... I had insurance so I only paid co pays however, The bills totaled (with what insurance paid ) were well over $150,000
typical hospital regular delivery with no complications.. about $4,000
c-section you can add another $2,000
only the hospital bill?
all in all, i paid about 5000 for a 4 bedded 3 night stay.
I had c-sect.
Location: Singapore , private hospital.
Without insurance the norm for a vaginal delivery can be $3500 - $5000 For a C-section delivery it can range anywhere from $8000-$12000. Remember this means no complications and such!
free...we're military. One of the small benefits we get...
Add-on...
For the lady in the navy...that sucks. We're army and we had to pay 0 and after I had my child I got a steak and shrimp dinner with the works...and it was good! All food was free and tons of freebies.
It's probably around 2500 bucks. Do you have a charity Hospital in your area? If you do then you can probably go there. It is alot cheaper, sometimes it can even be free. Have you applied for your state Medicaid? If not, you need to do so. This will help you with all of your medical expenses, plus take care of the baby when it comes. Many hospitals will work with you and help you keep cost down.
It all depends on what kind of birth you have. If you have the baby vaginally (meaning no c-section) it'll average around $6,000 and that includes an epidural. If you have a c-section, it's around $10,000 because they have to perform surgery. Then you'll have to pay for the care that your baby receives in the hospital after he/she is born. If your baby is healthy it shouldn't be that much. I don't know how much but it can't be more than $1,000. It adds up though. If you don't have insurance, see if the hospital will let you get some sort of payment plan to pay it off.
No charge in Canada. We pay higher taxes to get these privileges though. Might cost a few bucks for parking though.
For my son the doctor cost about $2900 and the hospital bill was $3600 (for one day, me and the baby, and no complications). That doesn't include all the blood tests, ultrasound, and baby items.
