What age should children learn about sex?
i hear alot of people say that sex shouldnt be taught in school or that some people are too young for it. what age do you think is the age to teach kids about sex?
i was taught about sex at the age of 10 in school. but i already knew alittle about it when i was 7.
Answer:
I think sex education starts with naming body parts. What you teach your kids to call their private parts is their first sex ed lesson. And it leads to how you talk to them about inappropriate touch which has to be done younger and younger in this world of pedophiles. Then as they grow and ask about how a younger sibling (either their own or a friends) came to be is another lesson.
What I'm saying is that this isn't a "one time, sit them down for the birds and the bees" talk. This should be a series of talks building up vocabulary and trust as well as information from very early on.
I think sex should be taught to adults only, say over the age of 35.
Start gradually when the subject comes up...They ask little questions at a little age, then progress from there..Let them be the instigator
I think that most of your child's sexual education should come from their parents with only a little knowledge being given by the school. When your children become curious about the subject of sex then we as parents should answer their questions as honestly and best we can. I think that alot of parents feel uncomfortable talking to their kids about sex and kids feel uncomfortable talking to their parents about it as well. So no one is talking about the subject until their little girl gets prego or an STD or their son gets a girl prego.
The best weapon a child or adult can have in knowledge.
about 10 years old i guess...
most kids are capable of having sex by then.
