Do we need a car seat for our 3 yr old twin boys?
Answer:
Go and have the proper seats with the correct harnesses fitted. I am a Road Safety Committee Member and your biggest responsibility is the protection of your children
The law is that a child must be restrained in a booster seat until they are 4 foot nine.
So yea you should be putting them in car seats.
if you want your children to stay safe then buy car seats for them.kids should be in at least a booster seat till they turn 4...if ur worried about them unbuckling themselves plug them in then push the buckle under their seat they shouldnt be able to unbuckle then...
Unless you want to risk getting fined everytime you're out driving with your twins in the car, yes you need two car seats.
Depends what country you live in. In Briton the law is that you have to have a child seat/ booster seat if a child is under 4 ft 9".
yep carseat carseat carseat! until they can fit an adult seatbelt properly ie the belt goes across the chest not the neck.. otherwise could cut their throat in an accident..
hmmmm looks like they won't be safe as long as you drive heheh.
the existing belts should do fine......but in your case, since you just gaining driving confidence, it would distract you and might lead to a disaster. so you think about it and decide.
HI, It is a legal requirement to provide a car seat for children up to twelve, I think. So yes you must get two car seats. Youcan go for the ones you actually put on the seat and that are fixed by the car belt. They are some good ones everywhere, so shop around. I get my stuff from kiddicare.com as they tend to be a little cheaper. If you go for second hand, you must make sure that the seats were not in damaged in any accident or used in a car that had an accident. If you don't get the car seats, you risk a hefty fine, let alone putting the kids at serious risk.
They need to be in some sort of car seat/ booster seat for quite a few more years.
you need 2 good seats or at least a booster for each child. lwa in europe is 152 cm before the child can sit with out a booster or car seat.
You asked this same question under safety and toddler and preschooler. So again here is my answer.
You definitely need or are required by law to have your 3 yr. old twin boys ( how adorable) in car seats, properly restrained in the rear seats while riding in the car. Children are only exempted if they weigh over 4'5" or are over 40 lbs. Or if they are over 12 years old. For 13 years of age, as with all adults are required, seat belts must be worn at all times.
There are lots of new revisions and FAQ found on the below site as of Sept 18,2006:
RAC Know-How - Owning a car - Child seat safety
What are the new regulations? Are there any exemptions? What do you mean by "child restraints" ... very difficult to get them in a child car seat. What can ...rac.co.uk/web/knowhow/.../c...
i say yes and get the kind that converts to the booster
Put them in booster seats.
Check with your local red cross or police department for the laws in your state. For your piece of mind, get the car seats!
They need either a carseat or a booster seat, whatever is appropriate for their height and weight.
Check the Car seat and Seat belt law for your state. I would get 2 booster seats to strap them into. Chances are you will have to have them in a seat until 6 years of age.
they just passed a law that you have to sit in a booster seat until the age of 8 years old. and no one under the age of 12 sits in the front seat. My son is 2 1/2 and he is in a booster seat because he meets the requirements, 34 inchs tall and 32 lbs. **If you have a window lock on the driver's door, that works real nice!!
