Working mothers...how many sick leave days do you get a year?
Answer:
I have only 3 sick days but if I use them all, I have to take from my vacation and personal time. All in all I have 25 days to use as I please, but about 8-10 of them are spent home with my daughter because she will get sent home from daycare for a fever or something and then not allowed back for 24 hours.
PS Trophy Wife, not quite right- I am a working mom who goes to work when I'm sick so that I can be sure to have the time I need when my daughter inevitably does. Face it, we both have it hard.
Well I also have 5 but then at the same time I have vacation days. What I assume many do is use some of their vacation days to supplement.
They should feel blessed for as many as they get. A sahm mom dosent get a "sick day" paid or unpaid. A working mom takes her day off and her kids are still in day care. A sahm gets sick, she's still on!
I am a single mom (with virtually NO help from their father in this department) and I have two girls - age 6 and 4. I get 10 days a year, plus 10 vacation days. At the end of last year, I had 0 time left. It goes quickly on dr. appt. dentist, eye appointments, sick children, and a few days off for family time.
I get 5. And my son doesn't get sick that often, thank God. But I also work for a company that if I needed to, I could bring him in. Thank God for that too.
I don't get any in regards to my child. I have to take vacation or unpaid (or call in sick for myself and hope they don't find out).
Good thing my husband gets dependant sick leave.
I have 12.
im not sure ask ur job
I worked for a phone company & we got 0..we had to use vacation time... I finally got fed up & quit.
my company is fabulous and voted consistently in the top 100 best for working mothers. I get 10 holidays, 28 vacations days and 10 family care days. I use the family care days for doctor's and dentist appointments. I also work from home. My son was recently diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes so this job has been a real blessing for us. I can work and still take care of him well.
