Why do children crave attention?

all children seem to live for is too gain adult attention, what drives them to this?

Answer:
being a kid?
kids don't know they're attention-seeking.
they're just doing what comes naturally.
How old are you?
To make them feel loved and wanted, it also helps with their confidence.
some may want to play with their parents, others just want to feel important around their parents, but I never did that, I had my sister to play with, and when we were young, we enjoyed our time together!
Its not only kids that crave attention a lot of so called adults don't do so bad
The same way men do.
Well, for one their human. I'm 21.5 and i crave adult attention...lol. It's only natural. Parents are the ones who take care of their children, this is why. My mother took care of me not my brother that's why i craved her attention, she's my mommy.
we all crave attention, not only children. children just have a different approach then adults. but giving children attention shows them love and different tools in life. working together, problem solving, etc.
Its how they learn to do everything that they do. They look to adults to teach them to walk, talk, eat, play etc. I think that perhaps you should wait, quite a while, before you have any of your own!!
instinct so dont ignore it!
Humans are always learning but children in particular take their cues from the adults around them, and an important need for humans is affection. As they grow and learn, children naturally want to display behaviours similar to the adults. They are working more for our affection than attention. Even some adults work overtime to gain other adult's attention/affection.

To answer your question, I believe (and this is just my opinion) that they are driven by their need to feel loved and for approval. When they get enough of it, they won't crave it so much.
for the same reason adults do
I dont know little boy, why DO children crave attention?
Yes children crave attention so do idiots on the web who ask silly questions.

Seriously though, they see it as a form of love.
They are human, nobody likes to be ignored.
What makes adults crave attention
You need to understand attachment theory. Every puppy and child has to have at least one secure attachments and believe it or not this can be to a building. A puppy or a child who craves attention is demonstrating a need. There is an insecure need not being met and the child is demonstrating that need. Pups are the same.
It's natural for a child to want attention, they have attention from the moment they are born and they will continue throughout their lives needing attention of some sort.
Becouse they are kids. they always will. It can be bad attention or good attention. picking on brothers or kids at school that is bad attention. But just wanting to be with you that is just wanting attention.
