Do you yell and scream and throw tantrums? Do you hit your spouse or your children(for a good reason)? Do you preach/lecture to your children and then close your ears when they talk incessantly? Do you gossip about people around your kids? Do love to see violence, or even participate in violent activities? Do you preach diversity but only have friends of one race, religion, or socioeconomic background? What do our kids learn from what they see of us?

How true, how true, how true...I hope my children learn kindness and forgiveness and patience..Along with many other things..I screw up occasionally (don't know any parent who hasn't!) But I apologize for my behavior or the thing I said or the way I said it if I was wrong...And yes I have even apologized to my children for things..When I am wrong or out of control..I admit to it..And I STRONGLY feel they see better than they listen:

It is so true actions do speak louder than words. Remember for birth children can't speak or understand language so what hey go on is the tone of voice and interacions with others. So true, so true.you child is WATCHING your every move.
