Stand up and eventually walking toy?

for a 10 month old boy that wants to stand up but has not yet, what is a good toy for him to teach on??

Answer:
Fischer Price Activity Walker. It can be adjusted for either sitting (you could put it in the sitting mode and then place it on your sofa to see if your child will pull up to play with it) and then it adjusts for pushing later when your child walks.

Or.the LeapFrog Learning Table. Your child can learn to pull up and cruise around it to play. It teaches ABC's, 123's, opposities, colors, etc. It doesn't move to learn how to walk though; however, you can slide it, while your child is holding on, and see if your son will take a few steps. I do this with my daughter to try to get her cruise/walk.
there is nothing that can "teach" them to stand. they will do it on their own. furniture is the best. they don't need a special toy.
Buy a push walker, I had bought one at Walmart in the toy section.
We used a walker. But, we took the wheels off. We let him practice standing in it. We kept it on our plushy carpet and only used it when he was with us. But, we never had any problems with the wheel-less walker. And, once he's walking on his own we'll put the wheels on the walker.

This way he gets to build up those leg muscles. If he uses a walker too early he dosen't develop the sense of balancing himself. My son is 9 months and pulling himself up and walking (holding on to everything - not on his own yet). I'm convinced it's because he was standing in the walker since he could sit.

Just position the walker at a point where he can sit if he wants to take a break. Or, if he wants to stand he can pull himself up. We got ours at Toys R Us (Target sells them too) by Kolcraft. I don't know about your son but mine LOVES Elmo! So, that's the one we got. The link is below.

NOTE:

If you look at this walker you'll see the way it's built. And, you can check it out better at the store. The ring along the bottom is steady. It can be used with or without wheels. And, when on carpet it's sturdy. We tested it for ourselves at Toys R Us. If it didn't have the ring on the bottom there's no way you could take the rings off - there would be no stability.

If you want a formal stand up and walker you'll pay $100. Depending on your boy you may only use for a few months. Something I didn't want to use for a month or two then put up in the attic.

And, now that he's standing holding and walking holding he loves to walk around the walker and see the lights. And, hear Elmo laugh. He'll pretend laugh right along with Elmo!!
