Do you have any of your children's art work framed in your home?
Answer:
I have alot of his hand prints / foot prints which I have attached to photos of him at that age - sort of a time line
He puts pictures on the fridge / in his room which are changed regualrly - but dont really frame them - keep a few special ones though
We did at our old house but did not rehang it when we moved to the new house. We had finger paintings framed and then some scribbles they each did. I plan on framing some more recent things in the near future. We have a great spot in the upstairs hall to hang them.
yes... and I'm still trying to find my fridge... I have a 4 year old and a fourteen... I find it adds a more personal touch to the decor... I love that commercial where it's the kids painting but the guy thinks it must be so expensive and all and then the kid comes in with yet another one... lol
yes my daughter loves to paint and draw so i have pictures everywhere if i take them down she gets upset but they are a cute touch and very unique!
i do. it makes the kids feel good to see them around and you can leave them up for a week or so at a time.
yes...one of a cat and one is abstract
I love this idea! I will be doing it when my daughter starts drawing. She is only 9 months, but I still think this is such a cute idea!
my parents use to do it but i tore them down... i never liked my childhood. and i've hated it so much i don't even know what happnened when i was 1-12 all i know is what became of me from 13- to 17 now since i turned 17. this is the price i pay for hating my childhood
Yes, I have several pictures they drew in grade school, and a couple from high school. I still have the clay apple tree, the clay ashtray, the clay polar bear and the soup can decorated with tissue paper that I still keep my pens in. All of it is on display and I love it. It reminds me of their eager little faces when they brought their treasures home to mom.
Both my daughters painted an autumn scene of birch trees with fallen colored leaves.
My daughter did me a wonderful picture of a beach in Greece with a taverna in the foreground with one glass of red wine for me and no other glass for her dad, we laughed cos she said I was having some peace and quiet time and was about to sit there and relax. She also put a little cat in it. It really did look idyllic without his beer and her coke, that invariably gets spilt! Me Greece and a vino, ah heaven. I framed it and she is dead proud of herself. She is 8.
i dont have any children but i have 4 nephews and i have pictures that they drew for me on my refrigerator. one is a picture of me with flowers. its several years old and i still have it displayed.
I am a mother of five. My oldest is 11 my youngest is 5. I used to have to frame and hang up everything (even math worksheets). I learned from my son getting older that he doesn't need them hung up forever, his I have stored in a box. My 5 year old on the other hand is really adamant about her stuff. If I don't hang it up it isn't good enough. So, I have a whole wall in our house that isn't really seen by others that much for her to hang ALL of her stuff on. This way it makes her feel good and even her not so deco-ratable black and white worksheets have a special place in our home.
Absolutely...we have a few of golf courses and several abstracts.
I frame everything they have ever made and it is in a seperate room which at the entrance it has their name with the word museuem attached to it.
So when anyone comes over and they are upset hurt etc. I tell them to go in there for peace and serenity and veiw what they have done over the years of their childhood.
It usually helps, many people walk out feeling better.
The funniest remark that was said to me was " You are obsessed with your kids" My response was" If i pass early they will understand everythung they ever made for me was a masterpiece that made me know how hard they worked"
P.S Mom's Rule!
I have a framed picture of my daughter's hand prints. It has a poem in it also, it reads:
"Here are my hands so tiny, so small
To hang somewhere upon the wall
To watch as the years go flying by
Oh how we grow-- my hands and I."
All the parents got one as a gift from our kids the last day on nursery school. I love it. We were really strapped for cash last year, so I had my girls paint watercolor pictures for my husband and I framed them. They hang in my bedroom, they're perfect. Kids' art is beautiful.
I put all kids artwork around the house. Some of it is framed and some isn't.
As gifts I often frame artwork from the kids.
For my parents I bought an IKEA picture frame that they hang in their kitchen and at least once a year, I get my child to bring a picture they have done and replace the previous artwork.
We just recently had our house renovated and our patio doors which are all glass don't have any window coverings, so I took some paintings that my kids did and hung them in the window, the kids are proud to display their artwork and I love seeing them there as well as getting a little privacy.
I'm sure anything that you chose to do will make you and your child proud.
I use a lot of the first pictures as background pages in my scrapbook. I have others hanging on the walls in their bedrooms or on their bedroom doors.
