What would you do if you found out your teen was doing drugs?

If I could afford it, I would have the goon squad come to the house in the middle of the night and take him/her to one of those lock down schools for troubled kids. It might be the only thing that will save their life.
If I couldn't afford that, I would confront them directly and tell them they have given up their right to any privacy in my home. I'd go through their room with a fine tooth comb. Take away everything that means anything to them. Call the cops on them if I had to. Lock up my stuff because they would try to steal it. Go get some home drug testing kits and give them one every now and then. Follow them to school - sit in their class if I had to. Take them to drug counseling. In other words, don't let them think they are getting away with anything and don't let them get away with anything. It's called tough love and its the only way to deal with kids on drugs.
Hopefully i would sit down with my son and talk to him, i wouldnt pressure him NOT to do it or give him the *hard word* i would hope i would be understanding and offering ideas..
No use blaming everyone else, so help him deal with his problems
My husband and I have talked to him for years about this, and still do. He is now 15, and is disgusted with the people at his school who use and deal drugs. He knows we wouldn't hesitate one moment to call the cops on him.
Sit and talk with him/her it starts early my stepdaughter and i are already talking about that and she just turned 12 anyway good luck she knows we would not tolerate and call the cops on her.
Sign him/her up for one of those touchy feely help groups. Ideally, run by teens for teens. A retreat for the weekend with different activities to open their eyes with a positive experience.
