What do you do with your childrens clothing once they outgrown them?
Answer:
Take them to a second hand childrens boutique. They are a good option. At second hand boutiques, you can trade in smaller sized, gently used clothes for clothes that currently fit your kid(s) and save a ton of money.
This is also a good option if you have any brand name clothes, or very nice childrens outfits.
If I don't know anyone who can use them, I sell them.
I always give them to friends with kids, or send them to the Salvation Army.
i donate their clothes, if i know someone who has a child that can wear them then they can have them.
I drop mine off at hospice or value village, second hand stores.
i give them away to my local churches if i dont have anyone i know that needs them.
garage sale sometimes...sometimes goodwill..or if I know of a needie family I will give it to them.
Give them to charity, give them to friends with younger children, drop them at a homeless shelter or a woman's shelter and since I have friends who are in Iraq, I send them there. Any of the suggestions that you made are acceptable. What makes you feel like you are doing something good with them? Go with whatever that happens to be.
eBay.
donate
I saved mines...we may want another little booger sometime down the road. Otherwise, I usually pass along to friend and family.
Throw them in the dumpster.
I either give them to people i know, give them to social services, or sell them at a yard sale and reinvest in new ones. I would nover donate to good will agian in my life. Do you see how expensive they are? That is insane.
Donate, to frineds and then the school I owrk at (the nurses and teachers always need half-way decent clotes for "accidents" and so forht, at least for elementary).
I would suggest joining a Freecycle group in your area. This will make sure that your throw aways are used by someone. You may also find something you want that is offered there.
I keep the outfits I love for future children and give away the others.
i always give them to family or friends kids
my son will be 2 when his little brother is born so the new one will get hand me downs also the stuff i don't want to reuse i post on www.freecycle.org
I save my favorite couple of outfits for that stage in her life. Everything else is in bags waiting for me to do something with them.
When my daughter was a baby we had clothes swap with a group of friends. There was a box of clothes that would get passed around to each family that had a child the size of the clothes. You would wear them until the child outgrew them, throw away anything that was really stained or worn out looking and try to add a few newer pieces before you passed it along to the next family. We did this about 3 or 4 times in 2 years and it saved a lot of money, of course we had other clothes that we had bought that we would keep for our next baby, but it was really helpful to get a basic wardrobe every few months. Once we are finished having kids, I'll probably give all the clothes I don't want to save as mementos to a friend that could use them.
Give them to the Good-Will some people don't have many clothes.
Donate it to women's shelters - often they leave home with the clothes on their backs. Or, if a friend's kid is near the same size, I give it to them.
Otherwise, I donate to the local thrift shop run by the ASPCA, it benefits them.
i give them to my friends with younger kids or to value village / goodwill any second hand store
Some are given to friends and I NEVER want them back, don't know what that is but it's weird. I sell some of the good pricey items on ebay and the rest I give to a womens center in my city.
I give mine to my sister in law. My niece is 1 year younger than my daughter, so she gets good use out of all of her old clothes. Otherwise, I give them to the goodwill.
If they are in great shape, I sell on ebay. If they are in OK shape, I donate them.
When my boys were younger, mostly I saved the older one's clothes for the younger one, and when he outgrew them, they were given away or donated.
Now that they are teens, the oldest has pretty much stopped growing, and the younger one is still growing so he can still wear some of his brother's outgrown clothes. So can my husband, since the oldest is taller and bigger around than his dad.
The younger one's outgrown clothes are still given away or donated if they're still usable, he's hard on them.
for the time being, im saving them, i have a 3 year old daughter, and im pregnant with a supposedly girl so i wont get rid of my older daughter's clothes, and when my baby is done with them, (if they are in good shape) i may keep them longer because i wont be done having children completely and i may end up with more girls. this just makes it a little cheaper to have kids when u can buy clothes for the first one and re use them lol (of course there is always the occasions i would buy new things.) when im done child raising. i will give them away or something, but only if they are in good enough shape by then LOL (you know how kids are with their clothes)
I usually give them to family or friends that need them. If no one is in need I bring them to the thrift stores and donate them. Either way I just give them away to someone who needs them.
save a few favorites for youngest son, donate to family, friends, thrift store,
i saved only the good brand names or if it just in really good condition. I donated the other stuff..
I am expecting a 2nd boy, so it works out perfect for me!
