Why have I lost my maternal instincts. I am so against having kids?

because I think there more trouble than they are worth. If they rebelled as much as me than I 'll have hell to pay. Is there a time when your body says that it wants kids?

Answer:
Why not visit a maternity clinic and see babies. Go visit a day care and maybe you'll change your mind when you see cute kids playing and running around.
no
I can't figure for the life of me why anybody would want one of those little monsters.
no, your mind had to make that decision. you can however become pregnent very easily and accidentally.
The desire for children is caused by the hormone progesterone. Remember that hormones exist to get us to do things we wouldnt otherwise do. Babies are noisey, expensive, inconvenient, messy, and stinky. Progesterone makes women think they are cute and they "must have one".
I wouldn't say that there's a time. It might happen and it might not. Some people just choose not to have kids, plain and simple. All kinds of things factor into it ranging from the cost, having to deal with each age level and what comes with it, where you live and if you have the room, your spouse maybe wanting them and changing your mind, your love for your spouse making you want to have a baby with them, etc.
you do not say how old you are. I am 28 and am wondering if I will ever want kids because of what I am going thru with my boyfriends son right now.
When you start haveing dreams of someone punching out your teeth that means your body is ready to have kids. Is that what you mean?
I am not sure. I never did have that. However, I did have a child in 1999, figuring it would be my one and only chance. I only had the maternal instinct AFTER I had her..never before... I never had babysat and didn't like kids much but this will improve some after you have any kids. However, I still like mine best (>:
I swore that I'd never have kids. I enjoyed my freedom too much. Then I got to the point where I really wanted a baby but found out that for complicated medical reasons I can't. I would say that you will probably change your mind in time.
You watch too much news. Try not to think of what you would be forcing onto any ofspring you bring into the world.
yes. couse i love them
theres a chance i would die for'em
but im 17 and need to keep a good head on.
Unless you are married enjoy your free time. But I guarantee you will love your kids!
if you are not ready or want a child
please do not have one!
Yes, they can be trouble sometimes--but never more trouble then they're worth.

Having kids is probably the most rewarding thing in the world. Having a child that YOU created and seeing them for the first time is the best feeling you'll ever have. Seeing them grow and learn, teaching them everything from how to walk to how to drive..it's the most rewarding thing. Yes, they can be a handful--but it's totally worth it.
Could be hormonal or your body is not in good form to have children. Maybe just a bad experience from your past.
Sometimes there is a time when the body cries out to be child bearing, but that does not make it the right tim.
I think once you are happy with a partner, you are living stable the little baby bug might kick in.
It is hard to answer this question forthright because I do not know your age. I knew from a very early age that I wanted a child. Yes, being pregnant is tough on your body, yes, children can be upsetting sometimes but I feel, at some point, your maternal instincts will show themselves or not. Not every woman is meant to have children and that's OK.
The reason it's called "making love" is because God gives us children to love and who love us (and others) in return... There's more to sex than just keeping the species from extinction...
Sometimes hormones have alot to do with it. Other times, it's just the mood you're in. And then again there might be a time when you wake up some day and say "I'm ready"
To be honest, I never liked kids until I had mine. After the first, everything totally changed. To put it lightly I'm baby crazy now. Your body will adjust if you ever get pregnant, you will always like your own baby!
Ur just afraid ur going to reap what u sow. U never lose ur maternal instincts, u really don't get them until after u have a baby. Its really a psychological thing, when ur ready u'll know. Your body is ready every month, its called a ovulation.
Being childless is a perfectly acceptable choice for women, just as is choosing to have children. Women don't HAVE to be baby-makers; it doesn't mean there's something wrong with you, or something missing in you, because you don't want to have children.

Maybe one day you'll want to have kids; maybe not. Either decision is FINE, as long as it's what YOU want. Above all, don't get pregnant because you think you should, or because someone else in your life wants a child (or grandchild, or whatever).

(BTW, I'm one of those women who loves kids - especially my own son, who is as stubborn as I am. BUT, I will argue with anyone that women have every right NOT to have children, and that there is nothing wrong with that decision! In fact, I think it's a very brave choice to make - it would be a lot easier to conform, have kids you don't want to have, and be miserable for the rest of your life!)
Your biological clock is ticking and now you are worried that you might fail at this. Don't worry, your time will come. If it doesn't you'll know that too. Some people are just not parent material, doesn't make them bad people, they just realize this is not something they don't want to do. I say, good for them.
To have lost your maternal instincts would mean that you have kids. Do you? if not you can loose something that you never had
