If you live alone, or on own with small children what do you do at night to pass the time?
Answer:
Wow! I live with my 22 month old and he goes to bed at 8pm. (He's with his dad right now, should be home in an hour)
I am in graduate school so I do homework, but I also do laundry, clean, or read for pleasure.
I always find plenty to do!! Including coming on Y!Answers!
I post on a parenting message board(look at my sources)
Sleep
Read books, play online, learn to knit.
when the kids are at school full time get a part time job and make friends that way if its a big company then you can have team nights out etc can any members of your family babysit
I read books. I started that when i was on bed rest with my twins. I also started meeting friends on line under chat rooms and I still have those friends today!
I do not live alone-I am married-but my hubby works long hours and I feel as if I am raising my son alone most of the time.I watch tv,go on the internet, read a good book, clean my house and do laundry. It gets boring-but I guess there is nothing you can do about it-my hubby needs to work to pay the bills!
I answer people like you on this thing!
don't ask - it's really, really sad.

Well, I go on computer, FeelBaby.com or MSN and chat, watch TV, sleep, chat to friends on phone (depending on time) or just whatever I feel like on the day. If I can get a babysitter will go to pub and get beaten at pool!
I read a book, surf the Internet or watch a good movie on cable.
I read, do the housework, mend toys, blog, use the computer, ride and maintain my bicycle, listen to music, visit friends or have visitors, cook a meal, write letters, do little DIY jobs like fixing doors on cupboards etc, I use my camera and phone my friends... All this as a single male, parent, working and owner of a pony who needs to be sorted out each evening too.
I would like to point out, that I do not watch TV. Ever. I own one, my daughter watched it on Saturdays and maybe for an hour if she wants to, but thats that.
When my first wife left us I decided once my Son had had his needs attended to and gone to bed that it was my time and I got to grips with some of the great classic novels I had always meant to read. It was something I always wanted to do and it helped me through a tough time too, saved on TV electric too!
I still try when I get the time but I have a new wife now and two more kids!
awful isn't it, esp now the dark nihgts are here, and to top it all the tv's crap too! I'm married but hubby works shifts which often leaves me sat here twiddling my thumbs, I tend to eat too much , read trashy mags and scan e-bay for things I don't really need, boring I know but I'm happy :)
relax, its your time! watch a movie, surf the net! pamper yourself. read a book, learn, plan great things to do with your kid. and most of all dont stress about what to do just do it!
chat to my friends on the net and answer the questions i find some times i read or do carvings and all sorts of artsy things
I spend a lot of time alone, because husband goes on business
trips...so I enjoy reading, listening to music, doing homework, a have tons of fun with scrapbooking it can go forever!. I am never too bored.
lots of tv
Erm, answer other peoples questions!
Well...sleep?
one of my kids favorite things to do is play hide-n-seek, we listen to music and dance, play games anything to keep them occupied until its time to go to bed then of course im ready to lay down relax myself lol, let yourself loose i love doing different things with my kids sometimes i exercise and they jump right in with me my youngest is two so its pretty comical
I have a hubby that is gone frequently with work.. travels a lot.. kids are all in bed by 8 and i just finish tiding the house.. play on the puter talk with other adults.. get things ready for morning.. But i think my fave thing to do is have a bubble bath in the Quite house.. (3 kids here and baby sit 2 more during the day as well)
I'm taking online classes so when my daughter is asleep I have plenty of time to finish assignments. I also get extra workout time!
Right after my daughter was born her father got orders to Sicily (military) Sometimes I'd pack her up into the car and we would go for a drive in the evenings and watch the sun go down. Once she was in bed I would get a few things done around the house. Wash dishes, dust, vacumn, clean the kitchen. Some evenings I would sit and read a good book while listening to music. (Keep in mind back then we didn't have the internet). I would write letters, being a military family we were often to far to visit family often so letters helped keep us all in touch.
Read, write letters, talk to friend on the phone; watch telly; develop a "home" hobby; like calligraphy, or painting, i joined a voluntary group who published a monthly magazine, and I offered the use of my home for their meetings. That led to me expanding my circle of friends and acquaintances; and when meetings were held elsewhere, i was able to bring my youngest child to them; he was 4 at the time.
when i lved on my own before meeting my husband i used to pop the kids to bed and then clean there mess do my house work wen donesit watch a little tv or read a book with a nice bottle of wine
excersise and keep fit. just imagine the great bod you will have after a few months... ;-)
I write novels. I've finished my first one and have sent it to an agent. Maybe they'll sell it for me! So now I'm working on two more, one about a werewolf and one about a secret society. It's more interesting than watching tv and there's a good chance that I will actually make money from it. Give it a shot, if you've got the skills!
I find this the worst time of the day, to be honest....
You have time to think and survey your life when the kids are in bed ( I have 1 )..I think about things and stress that I am gonna be sitting on my own till my girl is 18.she is 6 now. Sometimes it bothers me more than others...I'll watch telly, read a book and recently coming up to Christmas I have become a dab hand with a paint brush!
Sometimes I get really bored other times I like,.suppose that the way things are for the moment!
i get lonley but just try and pass the time by cleaning washing playing on the net watching tv its borning but its something
