More info on the little girl we are trying to adopt.?
Answer:
I have met alot of people that were adopted, most of them are clearly a different race. I live in Canada though, I don't know if that makes a difference. I don't see any reason they wouldn't let you adopt, like you said love is love. Good luck with everything!
Yes, I think they will let you adopt her.
It's not easy sometime, have a daughter that she isn't the same your race (I'm caucasian my daughter is more Hispanic than caucasian). Than you need to think very well before adopt her.
You need to be ready when she'll come back at home in tears because somebady ate black people, o when she'll scream you don't know because your white.
But if you think you can dial with all this, an you can give a lot of love, go ahead.
She will change your life, I can't think my life, every day, without see those big black eyes and those very long, black hair.
I think that they should let you adopt her. I am black and i don't see why race should have anything to do with giving a child a normal life. If i was in that situation and someone was going to deny me a family because i'm black then i would be heartbroken,I mean I thought America was a free country. I think that as long as you love and can support her, where you live and what you are shouldn't matter.Just always let her know that you love her as if she was your own if you really do.
~By the way I'm 14 years old in case you where wondering.
Your race should not play a part in you adopting her.My husband and I are just starting the foster parent classes. So let me know how this turns out for you. Best of luck to you!
Adoption in Texas can be a fickle thing and often depens on the specific CPS worker. The Texas Family Code requires CPS in Texas to first pursue all possible relative placements. Once that is done they have to consider non relative families that live in Texas, then they can consider out of state adoptions. In the case of a 9 year old Aferican American child I imagine the CPS worker is just relieved to have anyone willing to adopt her. It is very difficult to find families willing to adopt older children. The most important thing is to get your licence and get your homestudy in the worker's hands. Then make sure you stay in frequent contact ( at least every other week) with the worker. As the saying goes in Business "The squeaky wheel gets the oil." Good luck and bless you for your willingness to adopt this child. Submit your home study to her caseworker ASAP along with a letter explaining that you are already familiar with this girl and explain how. I think the fact that you are already familiar with her would be a huge plus at her age. Good luck to you!
