I have just started babysitting 2 boys ages 6 and 10. How much should I charge per hour?
Answer:
$20 per child
You deserve at least minimum wage. Do you think the kids' mother would work for less? Don't underestimate what you do for a living.
$5 per child.
Well I live in California, so I don't know what your min wage is, and all that, but here it is $6.75/hour.
Also, I nanny for 3 year old triplets, and I am paid $12.00/hour.
I would charge at least $5.00 per child per hour. But again, I live in a completely different area than you.
Hope this helps!
$7/hr
I'm a single mom and I live in Ft worth Texas where the day care ranges from 180 to 210. I make about 2000 per month so I would be grateful to pay 100 a week.
You probably live in a place like i do :) I once babysat a little boy for 1$ an hour because his mom was desperate and thats all she could do and if she didnt find someone to do it she would have been on the system and staying home. So i did that for 2 years. She still proved to be unreliable and i let her go. Her loss i guess. Anyways im babysitting again for 2 little girls ages 6 and 9. I get paid 25$ a week m-thursday and on fridays the youngest doesnt have school so i charge 1.50 an hour for her. I dont try run people into the ground like most daycares do. Do what you feel is right for the situation and the family. I wasnt trying to get rich either. Im already a stay at home mom so it wasnt going to hurt me one bit taking on a few more kids! But on the same hand done over do yourself and this can happen! Make sure you get your breaks as much as you can! Know when to say no lol cause i never did until now! Anyways you know whats best for where you live. Another thing you can do is call around to local or the nearest lic. daycare center and see what they charge. Just ask them a general question dont act like they are competing against you, just act like an interested parent. Try to get an idea off of them, but keep in mind they are lic. GOODLUCK to you :)!!!
20$ a hour
do like $4/hr not child unless it's more than 3 kids
The going rate is $10-$15 per hour for two children in a small city. If you were in a large city (SF, NY, Chicago) it would be $15-$25 per hour for two children.
If you want to do it for less - then you are being very generous. Personally I think anything less than $5 per hour is crazy.
Sit down with the mom, tell her you want to help her out, but cant do it for free, ask her what she can afford, then come to some type of agreement, you may be surprised at what she is willing to pay! Discuss it with her, but dont let her take advantage, have a minimum in mind, at least minimum wage.
