How do your kids spend their winter holiday?

My 10-year-old daughter's winter holiday begins. It will last more than a month. And she's the only kid in my family. I don't want her to spend too much time in front of the computer. Do you have any idea of killing her time?

Answer:
Buy a disposable camera. Go to the movies, play outside (weather permitting) Visit the library, do some baking, let her have some friends over and vise versa, go bowling. Bring the camera, snap away. The last week of her vacation, get the film developed and buy a photo album, she can make a photo book of all the fun she had on winter break.
Maybe take her to go see movies, take her to the library to explore some new books.
A month? Wow! My kids get 5 days off plus the 2 weekends attached.

I suggest having sleepovers, having friends over, taking day trips.
My kids never seem to have time to just be kids during school, so they spent time playing with stuff that they never have time to do. We got the toys that they haven't played with since summer, like legos. Some of them started a new hobby, like learning to crochet or building a model. How about volunteering for the good of others. Maybe they could spend time with friends from school that they usually don't have enough time with. By the way, perhaps since she has so much extra time on her hands, you could make extra effort to play with her.
Well my kids only have a week off school, but in the winter we spend most weekend snowboarding in Lake Taho. When winter break comes around all they want to do is get up there for a full week. It is great, they are out in the air all day exercising, trying out new jumps trails etc. My husband and I go snowboarding with them and we give them their own space so they get the best of both worlds.
In the evening they can go ice skating or to watch a movie in one of their friends' cabin and we usually don't see them until curfew because their days are so action packed.
skiing is GREAT.
