How messy is your kid's room(s)?
Answer:
There's carpeting in there?? LOL
My kids are slobs. The only way I gt to do get them to clean up their rooms is when they want something or want to go somewhere. I tell them "Not until your room is clean"
NO my sons room is spot less his playroom on the other hand. I just shut the door
So messy it kind looks like World War 3 happened in there...Im afraid to go in there sometimes...lol Theyd have to send in National Guards to come find me...:)
Nope. My 4, 7, and 8 1/2 year olds clean their room daily. Its spotless before bedtime. There are no other options. We expect it, they do it. Otherwise they don't watch cartoons or play gameboy. They are all old enough to clean the messes they make.
Take this for what you will, I know it's strange.but
You could probably eat off of my daughters bedroom floor and she is 12~ Very picky about her room and always has been.
4 yr old...different story! It's not that bad, yes I can see his carpet...but there is at least one power ranger on the floor and a few blocks as well.
wait until they are adults and have their own place -- it gets better. an old roommate of mine moved out and there was an outline of his bed on the floor made out of dirt. it graditated out until it blended with the rest of the carpet.
i had 2 friends that actually put sheets up over the kitchen to mark it off instead of doing dishes that were piled everywhere -- counter, sink, floor -- everywhere.
Unless the kids are in their rooms playing at that time, it's not messy at all. I've just found it's easier to get them in the habit of cleaning things up nightly. So right after dinner, they help clear the table, pick up anything in the living room and then clean up their rooms. After that, it's quiet time, meaning books or a board game either the kids or whole family can play together. We also have certain movie nights set aside.
My husband and I set an example by putting up our stuff after dinner too and reading our books or engaging in family activities. We don't have video game consoles in the house and all computer time is monitored with the kids. May sound strict to some parents and kids but it works for us.
