Kids will be kids?
Answer:
It's not ok. Unfortunatly McDonald's doesn't have the staff to deal with problems, although it is still probably best to report it to the staff anyway.
Drives me nuts when parents aren't in the playzone, or that the ver least sitting at the bar seats where they can see in the play area.
I will never forget the time I was 14 and was in there watching my sister (while my parents were sitting looking in. And a little girl, couldn't have been more than 3 fell off the merry go round right on her head and started screaming. Well I hesitated a minute because you shouldn't pick up other people's kids, but there were no other parents looking in through the window. So I picked her up and carried her out into the restaraunt expecting to find her parents. I had to walk to the far side of the restaraunt and I was just wondering around wondering what the heck I was going to do with this child when the parents finally realised it was their kid. What kind of parent's don't know what they kid sounds like when they cry?
And looking back at this incident as a mom: Where the H*LL was my mom and why didn't she yell at these damn morons. Maybe she was in the play area watching my sister and my dad wasn't there? My sister was around 3 herself and couldn't be left alone.
You came face to face with bad parenting. By the time these kids are older they will be holy terrors and the parents will wonder what went wrong. The best way to handle a situation like that is to scoop up your kids and get them out of there. They are too young to defend themselves and the parents don't give a damn.
Well,in one way she's right, kids will be kids, but she should have disciplined her kids,or at least spoke to them and get them to appologize to your kids!
It's not ok. I would have disciplined the kids myself and made sure the mother heard. If they kids get reprimanded by a stranger they may straighten up a bit. When I took my kids to the playland it seems like there were always bigger kids that don't belong in there. I was constantly getting on them saying "Hey, watch out for the little ones! You guys are too old to be in here anyways so you better be careful." They usually would look at me like I was crazy but would settle down until I had to talk to them again. I have no problem saying anything to protect my kids. It's not like I'm ever going to be seeing those people again.
It isn't okay. But, some mothers won't be good at mothering. You can't change the way those mothers raise their children, same as they couldn't change the way you raise yours. If she was a respectable looking woman you could have walked over and asked her if she would please ask her children to look out for your smaller ones. Maybe she didn't see them. Or, you could have told a manager what they were doing and they would probably have asked the mothers to keep their children under control or leave. I know it is hard, but if you want anything done you need to be upfront and ask them to change. I know that they should already know, but lets face it some people don't have any common sense. I know I would be greatly upset also if it had been my son in there. Good luck!
some parents just dont care they could care less.
The mother should have been watching her children. I think most of those playlands have an age limit. If the kids were too big, you should have complained to management.
Maybe they are out of control and she cant handle them.Even so your children have a right to be safe.
It isn't okay but remember everyone's parenting style is different. Maybe the other mother didn't understand who upset you were.
If I were you, I would have spoken to the child or children who hurt my kids. Usually disapproval from an unknown adult will get them to act better.
This is SO not Ok! I may be only 12, but I know if I ever acted like that, my parents would bury me alive! And same with my 6 year old brother! Those kids had NO right to terrorize your toddlers, especially if they were too old to play in the Playland in the 1st place. You should have complained to the manager and got those kids THROWN OUT!!
