If I have a child, then why do white people ask if I am married?
Answer:
girl im white unmarried and have a child and everyone that i know and people i do not know at one time has asked me if i either knew who the father was or if i was married. I see where you are coming from its dumb!
So it's just while people? That is weird! I wouldn't ask that.
they are bigots
only white people ask you that? i'm sure...
They know more people of your ethnicity who aren't married, than people who are.
because they want to know. If you think that its was a good decision to have a child before getting married then don't worry about what anyone asks you...regardless of their ethnicity. If you do get mad then it shows that you feel insecure and feel that you made a poor decision.
46% of children have single parent now
Not to offend, isn't that kinda stereotyping.
because a lot of black people have children out of wedlock, it's probably statistically true.
Do you wear your wedding band? Are you in fact married?
they see with a child so they think your married thats why they ask you that question
for the same reason anyone would...white, black, or whatever...to know if you are married or not.Just having a kid does not make you married
this is a racist question i dont know but you are rude for the way you asked it
Just "white people" ask you that? Are you kidding me? Thanks for labeling me into someone who is obsessed over people having to be married to have a child...
They assume that blacks fall into the typical stereotype of being unwed mothers without a child's father in the picture.
Does it matter what their skin color is?
People are people.
Anyway, either they are being stupid & bugging in other peoples business.
Or, you are being racist & just noticing the white people asking you that, while many blacks/mexicans/asians have asked you, too.
Eh, whatever.
probably they want to know if you're a single mother or not
I agree, white people do ask that
Just curious I guess. My granddaughter (white) has a baby, she is probably asked the same question. Some people are just nosey.
Most people get married before they have kids. I have two kids and I'm not married. Just correct them or simply say no.
doesn't asking this question make you just as much a racial piece of crap? I am white and single with child so do assume I am black? Bigot!
I don't think you will find that it's just white people. People are rude in general. Especially the ones from the old school, their beliefs are that you should be married before you have children.
I think that it's rude you are singling out white people for such a statement.
Because you're suppose to be married to have a child, according to conservative habits. Maybe most of conservatives are white people.
People tend to associate children as the product of marriage.
Troll
they been watching "Maury" and nobody on there is very good examples?
Just want to get into your business I guess.Next time this happens Ask ." Are You?"
Well, are you? :-)
Its too bad that only whites ask you this question, but are you sure that others arent that nosey, for thats what their question implies. It is not anybody's business whether you are married or not, and you should politely tell the asker that you would prefer not to answer that question. They would, if they have any common sense, stop at that.
The "white" people are wondering what their tax dollars are being used for.
Are you young? That is probably a reason to ask... I get asked all the time...by white people, black people, purple people. Why is it so bothersome?
Do you actually have a child? Or is this just a hypothetical (pretend) question?? It doesn't sound like you actually have a kid. So my guess is, you are bringing this up because you yourself are a racist? Proof that racism is not just a sickness of the majority, it is a sickness of the minority, as well.
Shame on you.
