Well, there are ways to promote contractions, but that does not mean it will put you into active labor. When having sex, if your partner ejaculates inside you, or if you have an orgasim, or nipple stimulation can all cause contractions to start. For some women, they continue and labor begins, for some, they start, then stop... Just depends on when your baby is ready to come out really...
a lot of people say that having intercourse induces labour, but i wouldn't do it

I think I read somewhere about castor oil. The side effects can be unpleasant though.
Inducing isnt bad. I actually think that its easier. I had two of my babies induced and it was better than my other two and I went natuarally. I would wait until its alittle closer and you can walk. That will help it along. Congratulations on the baby!

If this is your first baby listen to your Dr., being induced is not bad, I was induced with my son. It sped his birth along. THANK GOD!
It looks like you're going in to labour very soon, nauseous and cramping is the first sign, have sex and walk, clean the kitchen floor on hands and knees those all should help bring it on soon.

I was induced on my 2nd child. It is not as bad as you thing. If you do get induced try and walk around as much as possible because it help. It can also take up to 3 try before it starts to works. And you can be in labor for up to 3 days, don't let that worry you as my labor was just under two hours and it only take one lot and i was three weeks early. You can also ask you midwife to give you a sweep because this some times work. One other way of trying to start your contractions is to have a bit as often as you can this same times help. good luck
