okay i see that there are many questions like this one, but i'm gonna ask anyway. my period as of today is 4 days late. this is very unusual as mine is always to the day. i did take an EPT yesterday and the results were negative. there is no signs whatsoever of it beginning either. i am not noticing any pregnancy symptoms, but it may be early for that yet. i am, although, having to pee a lot (dont know if its connected). i am a smoker, and if there is a chance at all that i may be pregnant, i would like to quit ASAP. any advice on how long i should wait before taking another EPT? or... should i make an appt to see a doctor to get a blood test done? am i jumping the gun here? any advice would be greatly appreciated! thanks!!

Because the level of pregnancy hormone can vary in every pregnancy some people can test positive earlier or later than others. So your test may have been correct, but there still is a chance you are pregnant. I would recommend buying an early result pregnancy test, because they test for a lower level of hcg hormone. For instance EPT requires 50mg/hcg to test positive, where as Answer early result takes 25mg/hcg. So if you had a lower level you may get a positive on Answer early, when you got a negative on EPT. Your level should also be going up over the next few days, so you should have a definite answer in the next few days. Hope you find the answer you are looking for.
