+2 proteins in urine and delivery??

I am 26 weeks along. I have elevated blood pressure and was at a +2 protein in my urine. I also have some swelling of my hands and face. My question is... Has anyone had this this early in pregnancy? If so... how early did you have to deliver?

Also... how bad did it get before delivery? Thank you in advance!

Answer:
I had this as well. I went to the doc office and never came back home. I was 26 weeks as well. They put me in the hospital and on strict bed rest. I got the shots over 48 hours to help mature my baby's lungs just in case. And after one week in the hospital I started getting worse and had to have an emergency c-section. My daughter was born at 1 lb 12 oz 13 1/4 inches long. She was in the NICU for almost 6 months and had alot of scares and ups and downs but she's 2 1/2 now and is doing wonderfully. Keep your chin up and I'll say my prayers for you and your baby!
Protein in urine is not a very good sign, specially if you have high blood pressure, you should consult with your doctor about treatment. My pressure went up early but I started walking everyday and changed my diet (low salt, lean protein, low fat, lots of fiber, veggies, veggies, veggies) and it came down, . Baby reached full term.
Best of luck
Gestational hypertension (also know as toxemia or pregnancy induced hypertension) could cause you to need to deliver at any point from now until 40 weeks. Some women have mild cases and no serious complications, but others deliver early and do have complications.

The important thing for you is to report any danger signs to your doctor immediately and be seen in the office or the hospital right away. What you need to watch for is a sudden increase in swelling, a headache that doesn't go away with tylenol, any vision changes such as blurred vision or seeing spots before your eyes, or upper right sided abdominal pain. If you have those symptoms, call your doctor immediately, not in the morning, when your company leaves, or after you pick your kids up from school.

You may end up on bedrest, either at home or in the hospital, so begin to emotionally prepare yourself for that.

Taking care of yourself, following your doctor's instructions, and reporting problems to your doctor right away are the best ways to minimize the risks to you and your baby.
