Baby in ribs..?
Oh yeah, I also have had horrible back pain during this pregnancy.. my doc told me to get a maternity support belt which i have and now, the pain is moving up to my right shoulder blade.. it's feels like someone stabbing my shoulder. I can't sit, stand or anything.. I wish I could sleep! I just some advice on what to do. Thanks again!
Answer:
Try eating something and laying on your side for about 30 minutes and see if he doesn't move. The pain is probably the baby on a nerve. Unfortunately there isnt much you can do and I wouldnt try moving him manually...this can hurt you and/or your baby.
I'm currently 38 weeks. My son likes to go in the ribs while I'm sleeping. What I usually do is sit up straight and put a cold water bottle where he's at and he moves. I don't think you can get him to stay away from your ribs, but keep doing the things you do to make him move and maybe he'll find another spot. As for dropping, it depends on your body. I haven't dropped yet, and I'm due any day now. Good luck!
Try to find a Chiropractor in your area trained in maternity care and they can give you an adjustment that will help baby stay out of your ribs and help with the back pain as well. Often thay will refer you to a pregnancy massage therapist as well.(BONUS)
Many insurances cover this now also. Good Luck hang in there not to much longer.
There isn't really anything that will permanently keep him out of your ribs. You doc is right about that. You will probably drop about 2-4 weeks before you go into labor, though there's no rule on exactly when it will happen, if at all. I've heard that some women don't drop til right before they go into labor.
My daughter used to lean over on my right side on my siatic nerve and my right leg would always be tingly, but nothing I would do kept her off more than a couple minutes.
I wish you both luck! You'll survive, and in the end you'll have a beautiful baby!
Pregnancy takes a toll on your body in every way possible. It will hurt your back when the baby starts to get big and your hips and everything else. The baby will drop around 38 weeks but it does totally depend on your body and the baby. Once he does drop then he will be out of your ribs but then he will be on your bladder and you will feel as though you have to go to the bathroom all the time. You could try laying on your side and see if you can get the baby to move. Congrat's on motherhood.
