Whats the quickest labour anyone has had?
The water broke @ 3.50pm and she was born @ 4.03pm!
0-9.5cms dilated in 10 mins!!! WOW
I know that its common to have a quick 2nd labour but I didn't think it would be THAT quick
She weighed in at a healthy 9lb 15oz!!
Answer:
I had my little girl 6 yrs ago - my 1 and only!
For the whole 9 months of being pregnant I had laid awake in bed absolutely sh1tting myself about the labour, birth, PAIN I was going to have after the horror stories I had heard about women 'going round the clock' 36 hrs, being cut and stitched and all that sort of stuff - its safe to say I was terrified.
I went into labour, gave 3 or 4 pushes, no pain relief and Emily was born into the world in 35 mins start to finish!
All that worrying for nothing!!! ( well not nothing - I got my babe - but you know what I mean)
Well done - my second son was born in 59 mins!!
very nice lol. one of mine was a 2 hr labor from first contraction to delivery. with going that fast you might want to consider a home birth next time, if there is another, at least plan for one so its no panic when/if it happens fast again.
Congratulations to you! Well done! My daughter (first born) was born naturally after just over an hour...My son (2nd) was about 45 minutes from start to finish. The quicker the better I say!!
My quickest was 4 hours. My youngest took 11 hours though. My mother had me in 20 minutes.
I dunno about the quickest but i went into labour on monday night and had my baby on thursday morning... 3 whole days of hell..
lol i've not given birth yet.. i'm only 24 so not ready, but i found your question interesting! Giving birth scares the hell outta me so the quicker the better! :)
Just today there was a news report here in Seattle about a mom who had her baby on the way to the hospital in the back seat of the family car. Sounds to me like it doesn't get much quicker than that!
my mum went into labour at 1am, had my sis 3 hours later. she woz let out few hours after that. me and my brother, she woz in labour for alot longer.
that's a record. My sister had a 2 hour baby labor in her second child!:)
my sister's 1st was 2 hrs her waters broke @ 5:30 and ickle Beth was born at 7:30 9.10lbs! (i just hope short labours run in the family!) but her second was a 12 hour labour OUCH!
Did you hear about the baby in USA been born yesterday. It toke the lady from the first contraction to delivering the baby 7 mins. Now that is quick.
I toke 38 hours and then had an emergency c-section. So not quick at all.
congratulations,i thought my labour was quick,i was in labour 1hour and 55minutes with my only child ,so when i have another its gonna be a quick yun.
Oh, I envy you SO much! (No sarcasm, I really do envy you!)
My first labor was 27 hours, my second was 21 hours, and my third was 8.5 hours.
Who knows how long the next will take?
Please send some good labor luck my way! :-)
i had contractions all day with my 3rd baby, not really that bad just a bit of sore tummy, went to hospital about 7pm started having sore pains about 9pm my waters broke at 9.30 and had my little girl at 9.50(she was 10lb 7.5oz). my 2nd labour was a bit different i had my first contraction about 3.30pm and had her at 6.30pm(9lb 1oz)
Induced labor-22.5 hours.
wow that was quick . my waters broke at 6.30 am i had hold of my son at 7.15am apparently i started to dilate while asleep but my waters didnt go till after i was fully dilated tthought that was a bit wierd and that was on my first child . my sister though on her 1st child was 18 hours in labour but on her second her waters went at 6pm she only got of the chair and my niece was born at 6.05pm funny thing was we were having a family dinner and everybody was still there .
All I have to say is "I wish!". I'm trying to be optimistic though, since my mother had me in 1 hour 18 minutes and my brother in 45 minutes.
First child 1 hour 30 mins start to finish, second child 1 hour 35 mins and third child 3 and a half hours.
My first was less than 5 hours start to finish. I am worried about my second. They say second is faster. How fast?
my first child was 6hrs 22Min's and my second was 7hrs 40Min's both were induced labour. I'm 24 weeks into my third pregnancy and dreading going into labour naturally but I'm sure things will be fine in the end but i do hope its a quick one although not too quick LOL.
i had my frist child over four weeks ago at 5 am i was 2 cm, at 6.30 am my waters broke. Iwent to the hospital at 07.00am and i was 9.5 cm - i started to push at 07.15 and i had him at 07.43. I heard that its not so common with your frist but hey i did it. And i never even had time for pain relief!
I have to type this out to remember..
(my fourth and FINAL childbirth: Contractions started at 12:15 then I labored at home for atleast a half hour.
okay...I remember now...Got to the hopital at 12:45, and he was born at 12:58!
Its pretty damn scary, aye. NO preparation-no epidural..just hop on the bed...AND PUUUUUSSSHH!!! (That was so lame!)
:) good question!
Yours is pretty fast, but most of the time women have been silently dilating or laboring without feeling contractions for awhile. I am one of those women who never felt the Braxton Hicks at all, and I was contracted without feeling it, I'd usually start feeling the contractions aroaund 5-6 cm.
Most likely you had been painlessly dilating for a period of time, then with the bag bulging out the pressure becomes too much and it pops, slamming the baby's head down on the cervix. A few unlucky women have cervixes that become edematous when this happen, leading to a c-section for failure to progress, while others progress quickly from the weight of the baby and dilate rapidly.
Congrats on delivering at 10 lb baby in 15 minutes that's really something!
from my very 1st twinge of a contraction to delivery was 27 hours..but from active labour to delivery was 5 hours..dont really know whether that is quick or not?? early stages - long, active labour - fairly quick ??
Wow I would like to book one of those for my next child.where do I place my order?.36 hrs it took my son to decide to appear...think he knew what he was letting himself in for!
