I am 37 weeks preg., i am curious?

I am just curious about how long it will take for the small incision that the doctor cuts near the vagina for the baby to come out, how long will it take to heal and will it hurt when I urinate?

Answer:
With my first child I tore from end to end and required a ton of stitches, no it didn't hurt to pee, but I was so scared to have a bowel movement,Which ended up not hurting as well. It took me about 3 months to heal with that one. With my second child I only tore a tiny bit and only required 1 stitch, and the same. No stinging pee, and with that on it took about 6 weeks to heel. Good Luck and stay positive.
i am 36 weeks pregnant and was interested to see some of the answers - maybe they are all still in too much pain to answer

arrrgghhhhhh - the cruelest cut of all
You must understand that the stiches are a different thing than the urinary actions etc. Yes the stiches will hurt whenever some force is applied on them. As a side effect having bowel movements might hurt, picking up waight will hurt, and you might feel that you can't hold the bladder for as long as you used to.

But it all will heal over time.
