"I am 25 weeks pregnant with strange pain.?

"I am 25 weeks pregnant and occasionally I have a weird pain. I feel this tightening in my stomach that intensifies then it hurts to breathe deeply I can only take shallow breaths for a few minutes. Then the feeling passes and I am fine. This has happend two or three times in the past two weeks. The baby is fine too, I feel him constantly. What however though is causing that pain?"

I have an appointment with my ob but not till the 21st.

Answer:
It's called a Braxton Hicks contraction.
Ther's no law that says you can't ask him to call you before that. You are a mommy. Act like one.
I would ask you doctor to confirm that it is really Braxton Hicks Contractions, and make sure it doesn't sound right!
I'm not a doctor, but it sounds like the same kind of pain I get about two minutes before belting out a big fart.
Please bring this up to your ob. it may be nothing but could be a symptom of something serious
it could be braxton hicks, or early labor. see if you can't get an earlier appt just to make sure. if your really worried about it, go to the ER. don't want anything to happen to that lil bundle of joy! good luck hun!
HI.I had similar pains in my second pregnancy. It sounds as if you are just experiencing "growing pains". Your body is having to adjust to the growth of your baby so you will feel some uncomfortable pains off and on. Don't be too alarmed! If you have an appointment on the 21st than the doctor can more inform you on the status of your pain.
I was getting the same pains but only when I walked, when I stopped walking the pain stopped, but the only problem with that was the pain only came when I was walking longer distances so I couldn't really just stop walking for the rest of the day, I asked almost the same question on here and everyone responded back saying it's called ligament pains, it's pretty much your uterus making space for the baby. also it could be braxton hicks, make sure that the pains stay on the top and sides of your tummy and start to worry when you get pains in your abdomen area. people are going to give me thumbs downs for saying that, but thats what my fellow answerers and nurses have said to me. but it wouldn't hurt to talk to your ob.
the first thing that comes to mind is braxton hicks contractions. Its early, but not impossible. the second is uterine contractions . Don't worry sometimes things kinda practice, however, if you have more than two or three in a row, it's silly to be uncomfortable when an answer is just a phone call to the Dr. away. There are no silly questions, give his nurse a call if you are concerned, thats why you pay them the big bucks LOL
It's probably just the "little person" inside you getting into an comfy position that ain't so comfy for you. The baby may be pushing on a nerve in that position or something and the tightening occurs when the baby either stretches out or balls up pushing you outward in a very uncomfortable position. If you are feeling real painful things, don't wait until the 21st. Call right away and make them get you in there to be seen about. But it sounds just like pregnancy to me. Hang in there! You're past the halfway mark and it'll soon be said and done! All except for the sleepless nights, diapers, crying loudly and the other joys of being a new mom! You will make it through with flying colors! Best wishes for a healthy child!
this is braxton-hicks...this is your bodies way of "practicing"for labor/contractions..doctor will probably tell you to drink lots of water.this thing is common in most pregnancies.
