***Baby bump changing shape?***?

Sorry - I posted this in the wrong section a few moments ago. Let's try this again:

I'm at the end of the pregnancy (39+ weeks) and my husband pointed out this morning that the bottom of my "bump" has suddenly become soft. It was hard before. Is this anything to worry about - and/or could it be a sign that the baby is dropping further into position?

Answer:
It sounds like the baby has moved around, with you been so far on in your pregnancy its more than likely moved down into the birth canal to prepare for the delivery. Good luck hope all goes well. xx
Its just a sign of the baby moving in a birth position. The shift has caused that area to become soft because the baby is no longer in that area
well its definitly not a bad thing, he or she is getting ready to greet you. good luck
The baby could just be dropping, but if you're worried go and see your doctor.
The baby drops into the birthcana as you get further into pregnancy.
If you are asking about your cervix, then it could simply be your cervix is "ripening", when it softens and gets thinner, getting ready for you're baby to show up.
It could have been that the baby was lying breach and he turned himself around...

But yeah, sounds like he's dropping down. Congrats!!
is it a bump or a lump
Do you know how the baby was positioned before? Has your doctor felt around on your belly to feel the head or anything? If the baby is head down, it could very well be that its dropping into position and will be headed out very soon! Otherwise, the other option is that the baby has flipped around position and is now got feet dangling down there or something. but at 39 weeks, its so hard for them to get moved around in such tight spaces that I would think that's rare. Make sure your bag is packed cause I think you'll be heading out soon!
Baby probably just turned or dropped down a bit to get ready for the big day :) Congratualtions!
