Can you help with this?
Answer:
The itching yes. Usually it manifests itself on the palms of your hands and the soles of your feet worse and usually it is worse at night. There are simple blood tests to help diagnose that. The headache is not... I would call your doctor.. it could be preeclampsia. Call asap. The earlier it is caught the better. Good luck
PLEASE CALL YOUR DOCTOR. These conditions can cause stillbirth for the baby and death for you! Please be safe... not sorry. You have done this for 35 weeks.. deliver a healthy baby. Call and be taken care of. It is the only way. I didn't know how serious it was until I saw my doctor for it yesterday! PLEASE CALL!!!
I too am 35 weeks pregnant. Lately I've had the same symptoms. I saw my doctor this past Friday and he said all was normal. Stretch marks are going to itch and your head is going to ache. Leave it to my doctor to sugar coat, huh? Just know that you are not alone in having these things. I've also had very bad breast tenderness all over again. So get ready for that. If for some reason you feel very uncomfortable with your symptoms, it can NEVER hurt to check with your doctor or midwife. Good Luck!
Very Rare for you to have this. In the United States, Switzerland, and France ICP occurs in less than 0.5% of pregnancies. It is very common to itch because of the skin stretching as your baby grows.
Women with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy may also experience anorexia, fatigue, greasy stools, dark urine, and epigastric discomfort. Urinary tract infections are more common in women with ICP than unaffected pregnant women. Finally, a deficiency of vitamin K can develop in women who have a prolonged course of ICP.
Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy is diagnosed by blood tests showing elevated levels of bile acids and certain liver enzymes.
If you have any concerns please address your Dr.
First, I would call your doctor and schedule an appointment to test for intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy, if that is not the case - just try to avoid very hot showers (dry your skin out) and take a warm oatmeal bath every now and then. Lotions always help!
As far as the headache, I don't think that is a sign for intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy, but I know it is a very common problem in pregnancy period. If you havent had any headaches for the entire pregnancy, I would also bring that up to my doctor, though.
Good Luck!
