Low amniotic fluid?
Answer:
The same thing happened to me. I don't think I was leaking fluid, but my body obsorbed the fluid somehow. For weeks I felt like I was swelling. I had a midwife and she would just smile at me and say, "It's normal to swell..." I know she was thinking I was just getting fat. Anyway, to shut me up they did a nonstress test 4 days before I was due and discovered by baby only had 5% fluid and rushed me to labor and delivery. I can only imagine what could have happened if I hadn't insisted. But, my baby was healthy and perfect. His skin was just a little dry.
Your doc can do a test to find out if your leaking amniotic fluid, let him know this is a concern of yours. Better to find out then get an infection and not know. Your body will continuously produce amniotic fluids so if you are just having a tiny tiny trickle then there shouldn't be any risks to your baby providing you take it easy. You may even be put on bed rest. Best bet to see the doc again and have that test done. It's just a swab they put up there and if it changes color yes it's amniotic fluids, of not then youre fine.
I am sure you don't want to hear this but ask your doctor just to be sure. You do get a heavier discharge the further along you get so you may not be leaking. And just because you have low fluid doesn't mean that you will deliver sooner but be prepared just in case. Hope this helps. Congrats and Good Luck!
Could be discharge and/or urine. You need to ask the doctor questions about this.
