What medications can I take during pregnancy??
Answer:
you can take Tylenol but you really should talk to your O.B.
for my migraines my doctor allowed me to take excedrine but only up to week 20.
if you try meditation it really helps with headaches and will help you with your child birth preparations
you can take anything that is acetaminophen based. Tylenol is one or you can try the 'store' brand. i have migraines with this pregnancy, so my OB/GYN gave me a prescription. if your headaches get bad enough that regular Tylenol doesn't help and you can't sleep, call your doctor.
You should always ask your doctor what you should and should not take. So many people are told one thing is alright to take and others not to take, so there's so many two sided answers you may not know what to do. So talk with your doctor first.
With the headaches, I honestly don't like taking anything when I'm pregnant so I did some other things when I had a headache. First was making sure I got enough water during the day, simple and yet can cause a headache if your not getting enough!
Another is what your eating, food can mak eyou have mood swings and it can also giv eyou a headache, so eat some more fruits, canned (drain in from any syrup they are in, too much sugar in there) Frozen, dried. Eat smaller meals throughout the day instead of big ones, make healthier choices over sweets or greasy ones!
And belive it or not, get fresh air. Your breathing for two, sometimes just taking deep big breaths can do wonders, even stretching to relax yourself.
Try some prenatal yoga it will be good for both of you, and could even help you sleep better at night.
But again I don't like taking any medications so that's what I've tried and thigns that have worked for me. Some ideas. Talk with your doctor about what to take for headaches though, non aspirin is good, they say you can take tylenol but for some it upsets stomachs while pregnant, so speak with your doc!
Good luck, hang in there!
Tylenol is one of the few OTC meds you can take while pregnant. Your OB should give you a list of OTC meds that are okay. Never take anything without checking with your OB first. I am pregnant with my second and just got the list from my OB.
Here is the chart I use. I found it on Babycenter.com
