I was due on June 21, but the ultrasound date showed I am due June 17'th?
1) It is 4 days sooner and that is awesome by me
2) My cycle is anywhere from 25-31 days
3) you don't always concieve in the middle anyway.. and I never know when the middle of my cycle is anyway
Answer:
Go the soonest one;)
This happens often, the dr. can change the due date anytime.
you never have a due date or a due week its really a due month casue you can have your baby 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after what they tell you, so plan on having your baby in that month your estimated due date is in, the ultrasound gives you a due date according to what the size of the baby is then, and your still early but you always want to go by your LMP or thats what the doctors want anyways cause my ultrasound and my LMP due dates are 2 weeks apart but thats because im going to have a big baby~
realistically you can have a baby anytime. my aunt just had hers 10 weeks early. thats just the estimated time.
I would go by the ultrasound date. your due date is based on 40 weeks after the first day of your last period, not by conception.
it may be because the baby's head and body are larger then what it's supposed to be it that particular time frame. its only 4 days and i'd rather have a baby that little bit earlier then havig it run past the due date...
good luck
I am three weeks off from my lmp and my ultrasound dates. Doctors always go by the ultrasound so i guess that is the most accurate way to tell.
No date is ever going to be exact. They will only be able to give you an estimate. Go a week before and a week after to get a rough idea, but it's still not guaranteed to happen in that time. My due date was about the same as yours I think. He was born at the end of March...over 3 months early
that happens all the time. don't worry though your bundle of joy will come they are ready
Four days doesn't make any difference. It's more like a due month. You can have your baby any time during that month and it will be ok. My kids were 4 and 6 days overdue. Due dates are just a rough idea anyways. Congratulations.
Ultrasounds aren't always 100% accurate either. There can be a week difference either way. Perhaps your baby is just slightly larger. I would keep your original due date unless your doctor says to change it. You can have your baby at any time, so even if your due date goes earlier, you can still go over due. I was due June 13th 2005, my son was born on the 2nd. You just never know with babies! Good luck!
It does not really matter exactly when you conceived, the baby will come when it is ready. The babys lungs will mature, and the baby will start producing a natural substance called surfactant which docs beleive is what triggers your contractions. The ultrasound and doctors calculated due dates are not meant to be exact, the child will come when it comes, if it goes two weeks past the due date the doctors have determined, They will want to induce, so rest assured you will not be pregnant forever! Good luck and a healthy baby to you!
Your due date is an educated guess.
Even if you know your cycle perfectly, the date they give you is still just an estimate. Noone can tell exactly when your baby will be ready to come out. 37 weeks is full term so with it only being a 4 day difference you need not worry. Sometimes the ultrasound will show a different date and the doctor will change it.
I was told that I was due February 1st, but it was changed to febrary 21st when i had my first ultrasound!! The ultrasound is usually more accurate, because, as you said, a woman's cycle is rarely a good indicator of when conception actually took place, but the fetus's development in the womb is pretty consistent. Be aware, though, that the due date is extremely rarely the delivery date. Most doctors will still let you get up to two weeks overdue before they induce. but good luck, and congrats!!
