its heavy...about 6-7 inches...im in the south. Both of my childrens schools are closed mainly I think because im in a village and its not safe for the double decker style buses that they use to get the kids to school.
If that's the standard of English they're aspiring to, perhaps more of an effort should be made to keep the schools open.
Thumbs down for me!
I'm in N/E Scotland - most Schools are closed here too.
I work in a little rural school miles from anywhere so the school is closed as everyone needs transport to get there. One of the staff ended up in a ditch yesterday so it's just too dangerous to open country schools in this weather!
S. W. Cornwall We have sunshine, bit breezy but quite nice. Our Palm trees and exotic flowers are doing just fine. Lovely Blue sky with white fluffy clouds. Think I might pop off down to the beach for a stroll and an ice cream.
My daughter is only 21 months, so she doesn't go to school yet, but her reaction when she saw the snow through the window was priceless...she just stared for a minute or two, then started laughing!
The snow isn't too deep here yet, but it's still falling :)

Hi Lisa,
As we live on a farm, my two boys, aged 15 & 12 marched across the sheep-field to catch the bus into town, to attend their grammer school stuff, No problem !
I suspect muddy boots later, but bless them.
I fail to understand, therefore, kids & parents who telephone a school to report that little Jimmy won't be coming, as there is an inch or two of snow on the pavement,
Daft !
I used to put on wellies, up north, and plodge my way to school with a scarf on. No problem.
Are we all getting a bit soft ?
Bob.

It's VERY cold here in Indiana and snow but they don't care.. Wind Chill factor is below 0 and they just have 2 hour delay. It would be nice if my little one was home from school during this really cold weather..
