Take the digital ones! They work so much better. I took an ept and the line was so faint, but it ended up being positive. The way I see it...a line is a line no matter how light or dark.

If you were to test every morning, it would continue to get darker. The tests are very sensitive to hormone levels during pregnancy. So the farther along you are, the darker the line.
Any pink line means you're pregnant... but don't confuse it with a "ghost" line or a waxy white line where the pink line would appear. (those can always be present). see a doctor to be sure. if in doubt assume you are pregnant until a doctor tells you otherwise.
You could be pregnant but have low amounts of HGC (Hormone needed to tell whether or not your pregnant) Either wait a couple days and retake or go to the doctor for a more accurate test.

well... i had a dull pink line and we recently had our third baby! if it is dull you are probably pregnant. take another test to be positive. there should be something in the instructions about a dull pink line.
If it was the positive line that was dull pink then you can assume that you're pregnant. Just to be sure, buy another test and repeat it in a couple of days.
Hello I have had this happen to me. Chances are if you got a pink line you are pregnant. I would wait 3 or 4 days and test again, you might get a stronger pink line right away. Another thing is that you waited to long to look at the test and it could have given a negative result. My best advice is take the test again in 3 days and try to get one of those tests that say pregnant or not pregnant so there well be no confusion.
As a person who works in the medical field, we are taught that even a faint line is a positve result. Your next step should be to consult your doctor so they can do a serum Hcg (blood test), to confirm your urine pregnancy test.

a friend of mine took a prego test and ended up positive. and both of her children were like that when she took home prego tests it depends on the brand , it could also mean that your not quite pregnant enough to fully show on a home pregancy test i suggest a early detection test if you haven't already, otherwise wait a couple weeks and take another i'm sure it will be positive.
I know from experience if there is any line at all you ARE pregnant. When I took my test I probably read the info that came with the test about a hundred times trying to find somewhere where it said it had to be a dark pink line. But of course I never did find it. If nothing else you can go to your doctor and have a blood test done to be sure. Good luck.
if the 2nd line appears - i think you are pregnant - my Dr said there can be a false negative but rarely a false positive.

There is a wonderful website that I found when I was wondering the same thing called peeonastick.com. It has an index of many different pregnancy tests with photos of positives and negatives and sensitivity ratings, etc. From that site, I learned that on the +/- tests (as in the ones that the negative result looks like a - sign, and the positive result is another perpendicular line through the first line making a + sign) have a slight risk of false positives due to the dye leeching into the vertical line, HOWEVER, that is very rare. In almost all cases, a very, extremely, can barely even see it pink line is still a positive result. Congratulations!
