Transverse at 35 weeks, history of big babies/pre-term labor?
Being that the baby is transverse, I have heard that ruptured membranes can possibly lead to prolapsed cord. I live about 40 minutes from the hospital and I really wish the doctors understood my concern with this transverse lie--especially since I have a low lying placenta which is on the left side.
Has anyone delivered early due to a transverse lie?
My doctor said she wanted to see if the baby turned by 37 weeks and then they would consider C-section and the midwife wasn't very comforting she just said if I go into labor get to the hospital ASAP. I'm sure the baby will be too big to try to turn by 37 weeks if it hasn't turned and I am in pain and discomfort due to lie.

Answer:
Neither one of your first two would be considered "big" since the average is seven and a half pounds. Your doctor is right, the baby can flip. If you feel that you are starting labor, call your doctor and see what they tell you to do. Make sure they know that you live forty miles away. They'll take that into consideration.
You can request the doc to put you in hospital, until you deliver. That away if you do have a problem you can have the problem taken care right than
