Answer:
Hey girl ,calm down!!ok first Q. I really believe contractions feel like really really bad cramps all over your stomach. The timing between contractions are different for everyone. When they start out there is along period between before the next. As they progress they will get closer together and harder contractions. It usually goes the longer apart the contractions are the easier they are and the closer ther contractions are the harder they are.
2nd Q. If you start feeling pains under your ribs 95% chance you are having contractions. The other 5% the baby is stretched out under both sides of the ribs.
3rd and 4th Q. It is very normal for your hips and pelvic to hurt as far along as you are.your pelvic hurts because the babys head is right there. If you feel in your pelvic area (apply some pressure) you will feel something hard, that hard thing is your babys head :) Your hips will hurt to especially with your first pregnancy because the baby is needing room to get out. The pain you are feeling is your hips stretching. You might or might not have noticed but alot of women after their first kid have wider hips. A few are born with big hips and the rest were made hunny!! Before I had kids I had no hips at all, now after 2 kids girl I got the hips I have always wanted!
5th Q. You will know your baby has dropped (Like I said earlier) when you feel a solid area right above you pelvice. It wont be soft anymore.
6thQ. Prelabor, its different with all women! Myself, I was in prelabor for 15 hours with my 2nd and 35hrs with my first.!!
7thQ. If you get the epidural before and it has already kicked in, then no the cathader won't hurt. I went to the hospital one day and they told me oh this wont hurt, I said ok , the next thing I knew I had screamed. It hurt that bad and every time after.
8thQ. The best thing would be a massage but I know some ppl dont have that luxzury. I know I didnt. LOL LOL. They tell you not to because its bad for the baby and you. I know this sounds bad, but if the pain was bad enough I took a BC.If you dont want to take that chance thats fine, if you want to be safe take tylonol rapid relief. Well felix I hope I have helped you out in some way or another if not I wish you and your child well and God Bless.
All the things you named are signs of early labor. If your baby has dropped, you will be feeling pressure on your lower abdomen/pelvic and your inner thighs will be uncomfortable to sit or walk. If you have concerns about being in labor, call your OB/GYN or call your labor & delivery center. They don't mind answering questions and checking you out.
-check all belly pain questions with your ob-gyn!
-contractions start off usually painless..just very tight and lasting a bit longer than braxton-hicks..
-ALWAYS call about sharp pains..it could be a problem with the placenta.
-I had the same pain under my ribs..they checked everything from gall problems on..eventually discovered it was a placental problem (I delivered a healthy boy at 34 weeks after 3 weeks hospitalized..)
-yes
-yes
-your baby will be noticably lower and your may even feel an ease in pressure.
-not sure (sorry)
-No..once you get an epidural you will not feel pain from the catheter..maybe a little pressure.
-Lay down on the left side and put a pillow between your knees.
Hope that helps! Good Luck!

I have had to go thru all this 6 times. All the pain you are feeling is totally normal as the baby gets bigger and the baby drops you will have more pain because the baby is dropping into your pelvis. You wil know when yout baby drops when you feel additional pain and pressure on your bladder and pelvic bone.Another way that yo uwill knoww that your baby has driooed is you will start to lose your mucus plug which means you are thinning out and starting to dialate.
i just had my 1st baby 1 month ago so i can help.
1st question > the belly pain is normal it is just you stretching out more i went through that about the 35 week it doesn't get any worse.
2nd question> contractions last about a 90 seconds if you are having 45 second contractions they are called braxton hicks aka pretend contractions. Real contractions are every 60 seconds.
3rd questions> sharp pains mean the baby could be breached.
4th question> never heard of that sorry can't help
5th question> yup pelvic pain is normal it could be because your bone is too small i went through that as well.
6th question> you will have hip pain cause of the extra weight.
7th question> when your baby has dropped you can see it in your belly cause it gets lower so low that you can fit your hand on the top of it with room between your belly and breast.
8th question> you can never tell how long prelabor can be there is no defenit answer sorry.
9th question> when you get an epidural they first numb you and which fills like a bee sting then they put the cathader in and all is good to go no pain.
10th question> hot water bottles for back pain works wonders.
hope i was helpful feel free to email me at moniqueruiz2@yahoo.com good luck
Yes gasy pain is normal.
Don't know never had contractions.
Any kind of sharp pain is bad so please call your doctor if you have any.
All pain is normal.
Yes epidurals and cathaters hurt.
and nothing will cure back pain.
For back pain try massaging the back muscles will reduce the pain.Apply an icepack to the affected area. This will make the area numb and reduce the pain. More details and remedies at http://aches.in/backpainremedies.html...
