ok im 36 weeks pregant and ive been having contractions here and there but now i want to know is it normal to have contractions every time i have to go pee? some one please help i called my nurse but she didnt answer

Answer:
Im assuming this is your first baby and congratulations. What you are feeling is nothing unusual. When you go to the toilet and empty your bladder your babys head settles down as it is being held up by this "bag of water". As the head settles it is probably trying to engage which happens around about 36 weeks in first pregnancies. This may get uncomfortable and sometimes women describe it as a "sharp stabbing pain between their legs". This extra pressure as the head engages puts pressure on your cervix and can sometimes stimulate tightnings. As long as these are irregular (Braxton Hicks) they are no cause for concern.
It may not be contractions you are having, it may be your baby dropping in your pelvis when you relax your muscles to pee. Believe me, you will know if you are in labour (really painful) and it will be far more regular than jsut going to the loo. You are probably having Braxton Hicks when you say you have contractions as your body prepares for the birth they can be quite sore but not as regular as proper contractions. These become more and more regular up to your due date. I take it you have not had any other labour symptoms e.g. a show or membrane rupture? If in doubt, call your midwife again.
You could be going into labour, or it could be braxton hicks. Either way, you still have a long way to go if your contractions are irregular and there is not much you can do apart from try to get some rest and relax and keep an eye on how regularly they are coming.
Equally, these contractions could easily pass.
Call the labour ward of your hospital if you want to talk to someone.
ye it is normal it is the baby moving down and getting ready for birth. People very often describe the pain as waves going all the way down to the bottom. The name often used for these pain are braxton hicks. (they prepare you for labour) The only thing i would check though are you actually weeing and your waters haven't broken?
they could be braxton hicks contractions, you body is getting ready for the real thing, ring your midwife of gp for the reassurance you need, if your waters break its the real thing, and you must seek help
Hi there and congratulations, what i expect you are experiencing are braxton hicks, these are slight contractions (practise contractions) getting your body ready for labour, don't worry this is quite normal,i got them a hell of alot when i was pregnant, you just relax and enjoy the last few weeks of being pregnant. and good luck with the labour and your little baby..xx
