Use of antibiotics in pregnancy?

are they safe to use? i'm 21 weeks pregnant and have a chest infection.

Answer:
Some antibiotics are contra indicated during pregnancy, your doctor should be able to prescribe one that is safe. I also had a chest infection at 20 weeks and took antibiotics for a week. There was no problem, and i now have a healthy 5 month old baby.
pls consult a physician... all these cannot be advised thru net...
Considering you have to get a prescription for antibiotics, you would be best served to check with the doctor you are seeing for your baby as they will be able to give you one that is safe. Don't even think about using a natural remedy without checking with your doctor either.

Don't worry, there are some that are safe to use and your doctor will know which one to use given your health history. I am allergic to some antibiotics, but that only meant my doctor gave me a different one when I was pregnant with my son.
Double check with the Dr. that gives them to you. I've taken them in my pregnancies and had no problems at all.
