Around 16-20 weeks
you should get the book what to expect when you are expecting. it tells you everything. what the dr.s visits will be like and all of that. you can tell the babies sex by 5 months.
Your early OB/GYN visits will all be very similar. The sonogram will be scheduled somewhere around 20 weeks, maybe a little earlier depending on your doctor and personal medical history. Locate a used (or new) copy of "What to Expect While You're Expecting" (on Amazon.com or Ebay). It will tell you what you can expect every step of the way and even addresses questions that haven't crossed your mind yet.
go get a book, there are some really good reference books out there to help you out, they'll explain every stage of your pregnancy. congratulations, enjoy
you should have a ultrasound at around 16-20 weeks. And you'll probably hear the heartbeat at your next appointment.
Don't worry about not hearing the heartbeat she'll more than likely try again on your next visit and you'll get to hear it...it's an amazing sound :) , she'll feel around your tummy, measure your uterus and probably schedule your ultrasound anywhere from 20 weeks and on.
