Pregnancy and Separation of the Military?
Answer:
no, you do not have to be a certain amount of months along but of course you will need proof. I am unsure how long it takes as I chose to stay in but I know it depends on how fast people push the paperwork through. I do not think it takes very long unless the paperwork sits on someones desk.
You have to get a pregncy counceling and then from there it takes a couple of months but make sure you have proof of pregnancy to give them so they can't delay the process later.
Look through your regulations/orders whatever you call them, there should be one for pregnancy. I was in the Marine Corps and our order stated that you had to request separation in writing, and that the request would only be granted under extreme circumstances. There was an example of the request included in the order and you had to make the request before a certain week of the pregnancy. Sorry to be so vague.
