Is it too early to feel this yet?

i'm currently 20 weeks with my first and wondered if it is too early to feel an arm, leg or whatever from the baby in your ribs? i had a pain in my lower ribs and was told it was the baby by a female co-worker but its been 20+years since her last child. so anybody who could tell me that is or was recently would be nice.

Answer:
Your baby is about 6 1/2 inches from crown to rump, your uterus is at about the same level as your belly button, I would thing you would have to sit in a strange position to feel the baby in your ribs, but depending on your size or length of your torso it is possible, as your uterus expands it pushes your organs up toward you diaphram which may be what you are feeling. If you are unsure it most likely is not the baby. Enjoy while you can when feet get up there they seem to have a way of getting stuck for weeks.
It was most likely gas pains
Not too early at all. Both mine made sure I knew they were there early on!
not to early that could be the baby stretching on just when she/he is laying
no its very possible especially if your a smaller person.
It's probably not an arm or leg, but the pain your experiencing is most likely pregnancy related. Your other organs are becoming cramped to make room for your growing uterus, which can cause pain in the ribs, esspecially after eating.

Keep an eye on it, though. Severe abdominal pain during pregnancy can be a sign of preeclampsia. If it doesn't go away, or if it becomes severe, call your doctor or midwife right away.
I am not sure but I know I have not felt that yet. I do, however, get pain that feels like its in my ribs and its really heartburn and gas. Good luck!
My baby was laying sideways my whole pregnancy, so I felt his moving and punching me in the ribs pretty early.
No, it's not too early. Especially if your baby will be a little taller than average. Sometimes when they stretch, flip or do other little tricks, than can float into your ribs. Congrats and good luck!
i was about that far along when i felt the same thing...and yes it is normal..its the baby..just plan to feel more...lol...good luck and congrats..
