Does squating help induce labor?
Answer:
YES YES YES!
Squatting helps drop baby and puts baby into position for birth.
It also puts pressure on your cervix.
This is what my midwife recommends for women who are overdue (like I was...9 days). Walking up and down stairs, or even just around the house helps, too. Gravity is a miracle when it comes to labor.
I dont know if it does or not but I think it could harm him. Thats why they say, not to. I fell on the floor and it didnt start it. That little guy will come out when he is ready.
some say ya, but I squated tonz and I was only 1 cm until they induced labor. But there is many benefits. It is good for your muscles. and may help you recouperate faster. So even if you think it might be worthless and stupid now, go ahead and keep doing it. It makes for stronger muscles to do any work out. good luck
When I was pregnant with my son my Dr's nurse told me that squating and walking like a duck was suggested to her when she was pregnant and it worked for her because it put pressure on the cervix. I didnt try it because we knew my son would be a month premature and I surely didnt want to risk early labor.
No... but it might help bring the baby into the right position.
I spent the last month sitting and rolling a nd bouncing on a birthing ball... everyday for hours!! Nothing happened, I still had my baby at 40 weeks.
