17 or 18 wks pregnant Can i find out the sex of the baby?

Im either 17 or 18 wks pregnant im due july 12th and i was just wondering if at my next sonagram which is the 7th of feb if i might be able to tell the sex of my baby? i know it depends if they cooperate but if they do i should be able to tell shouldnt i? thanks

Answer:
It should be possible, if baby is keen to let you know by lying in the right position. Baby will now have have developed all the right 'bits and pieces' so you will be able to tell.
Yes, they can find out as early as 16 weeks. I found out at 18 weeks and they were right...i had a baby girl!
you should be able to, if the baby cooperates with you.
normally you can find out between 16-21 wks, depending if he or she wants to show it., lol.
I would think that you should be able to. If not now, than soon. My first ultrasound was at 20 weeks and they could tell then. I would talk to your OB
yes you will be able to tell what you are having sounds like you are having twins from the way you wrote the question so congrats double suprise'my first baby had her legs crossed for both of her scans and same as my second daughter

good luck its a nice suprise not knowing what your bubs is.
you should be able to , but depending on your health care some doctors dont like to do ultrasounds. I know I had the county with my first baby and they were not trying to give me an ultrasound and if they would have then I think I would not have lost my baby.
So long as baby is feeling photogenic on the day, there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to tell what you are having. Some hospitals in the UK have a 'don't ask as we don't tell' policy, so don't get your hopes up too high.
yes you can but the dr will usually make you wait until you are 20wks. That way you'll have more of a definate answer. At 20 wks they are bigger and can't hide as easy as 17 or 18 wks.
It not only depends on the baby cooperating with you, it also depends on the quality of the ultrasound they are using. If they have a very good one, then you just might be able to tell the sex of the baby. If they have equipment which has not been updated in the last couple years, you might not be able to tell as well. Also, make sure you call you dr's office and ask if it's possible to have your ultrasound video taped or recorded onto a dvd. This is something that is fun to watch with your child when they're a bit older, or to even share with friends and family members. You can get a couple blank dvds or vhs tapes for under $5. My dr has told me that it's very possible to tell the sex of the baby at 18 weeks, however 20 weeks is the best. Good luck!
YES YOU SHOULD, IF IT WILL SHOW YOU
Yes!! My doctor told me at 15 weeks they thought I was having a boy and at 20 weeks it was confirmed...he was definitely a boy!!It`s so exciting to find out what your having..I`m 14 weeks with my third and can`t wait...I have a 11 year old girl and a 6 1/2 month old boy so it real doesn`t matter as along as it`s healthy!! Congrats and Good Luck!!
Yes you should be able to find out if the baby cooperates, drink lots of water before sonogram time, and if they say "you wanna know the sex" chances are they know. I found out at 16 weeks I was having a girl, 20 weeks for my son, and my oldest did not cooperate (girl and thought the whole pregnancy...she was a boy, people said...so don't always believe people) Good luck, hope you get what you wish!
you sure can
