I just read that I am suppose to avoid vitamin A while pregnant, has anyone else heard this?

Answer:
You don't have to avoid it, but you don't want megadoses of it. Vitamin A is not water-soluable so it gets stored in the body rather than constantly flushed out. Too much Vitamin A in your system can be toxic.

Most prenatal vitamins supply 50% of RDA, and the rest you'll intake by food. So go ahead and eat all the veggies you want and don't worry about it - just don't take vitamin pills with high doses of it.
You just need to avoid extra high doses of this. If you use face stuff that has Vitamin A, discontinue using it. You do need some Vitamin A, you just don't want to overdose it. What I would do is just discontinue using any face/body wash/ hair stuff with vitamin A and then you're proably safe.
Yes, high doses of vitamin A are very, very dangerous for the baby. That's why you need to avoid lots of acne creams like Retin-A, Acutane, etc.
