Can I eat my favourite meal whilst pregnant?

Hi everyone. I'm 9 weeks pregnant and I'm going to a restaurant this weekend and would like my favourite meal - spagetti carbonara. Can I have it with it being made of eggs? I think it is made from raw eggs. Am I right? Can I have it?

Answer:
The raw eggs are added to the hot pasta and technically "cook" due to the heat of the pasta. As such, it is probably okay, but I think that would be one to check out with your doctor or midwife just to be on the safe side.
i think so yes
It is made from raw eggs but then they cook the pasta and the sauce so the eggs aren't raw anymore! Unless they serve you uncooked pasta and sauce! You can eat it.
if its made with raw eggs, i personally wouldnt risk it, also hav to be careful with veined cheeses and pate, some say caffeine too
i personally wouldn't risk eating anything that hasn't been cooked, but that's just me...i had to give up a lot of the foods i liked while pregnant...and i got a healthy baby girl out of it and now i can go back to eating them!
I actually had raw sushi before I found out I was pregnant..I was probably only about 4 weeks along...and I was so concerned when I took my HPT that I immediately asked my doctor if my baby was safe. I was told that a one time meal wouldn't result in birth defects and that since it was in moderation, my baby would be unharmed. I am now 23 weeks and he's been developing accordingly and without complications.
And I just noticed the above post about pate. I actually ate A LOT of pate during my first trimester because I was craving Vietnamese pate sandwiches...I think it can be risky because of the bacteria, so you should be careful, but it certainly isn't as dangerous as drugs and alcohol to your child. Imagine all the women in the past who didn't have the warning about soft cheeses and listeria (and that wasn't too long ago!) but ate it anyways and had healthy babies. Studies change all the time.
I wouldn't call ONE MEAL risky, but it's your choice since it's your baby.
Of course you can, eggs are usually safe now they have the little lion thing on them. I thnk it is just a really runny fried egg, just in case, but eggs are in a lot of things that are safe to eat eg mayonnaise.
raw egg is an ingredient, but it is cooked so it becomes cooked egg

raw = something that isnt cooked
When they add the sauce to the cooked pasta the heat cooks the eggs, so yes, I would say you would be fine to eat it!
I think you'll be OK. I wounldn't recomend eating it every day-but everything is ok in moderation.
Call your doctor.. but before you do make sure of the ingredients. Ask them what they think. I know this has white wine in it as well. I just do not think that I would risk it. There are a few things that could make you sick.. certain cheeses, pancetta, the white wine. Maybe it is time to find another meal to try. So sorry... good luck!
Eat it whenever you want. All eggs are raw until cooked. The sauce cooks the eggs. There is nothing wrong with eating eggs if they are cooked. They are a good source of protein for you and the baby.
if it has raw egg then no
it's not raw eggs, so you may eat it
I would think it's alright, but even the thought of something that is raw doesn't suit me well. They put the warmed sauce on cooked pasta though so it should be ok.
no not with raw eggs def not!!!!!
im sure you can eat it
