Am i having contractions?

earlier in my pregnancy I was having BH contractions and it felt like a muscle tightening and it kind of hurt but it wasn't too painful. I stopped having them for a long time but now recently I have been getting what I think are contractions but I don't know because they don't feel the same. I can't really feel anything other than a weird tingly feeling and my tummy is getting really hard. Is that a contraction? I'm due on the 19th.

Answer:
the tingling and tightness could be very early contractions. It will gradually get to feel more like a period cramp ,down low and sometimes into your lower back and the tops of your thighs. They will get steadily more painful and closer together. It can sometimes feel like your bottom wants to squeeze out through your bladder LOL you will probably find that if it doesn't continue as I described tath you will keep getting this type of mild contraction and will be slightly dilated when you go for your antenatal visit.
could be, if they get where you are having them regular like every 10 minutes or so then you need to go get checked out by your doctor
could be, but contractions are more than a tingling. they will start down low and feel like period cramps.
yes you are
well sounds like braxton hicks so don't worry if it is real labor your be getting stronger ones as the day goes on the baby won't be that early so don't panic .i have had a 36wk 34wk all healthy.good luck
could be get them checked
It is possible that you are having contractions. If you have lost the mucus plug or your water has broken you should definately go to the hospital. Either way, you should contact your OB/GYN. Good luck and best wishes!
I am assuming this is your first child, and I can totally relate to what you are saying. With my first child I was having these strange feelings inside my stomach, I couldn't go to sleep, and just had to be up moving around. I went outside my apartment to walk around for awhile(it was like 1am) and one of my neighbors asked me if I was ok. Mind you I was due that day but only looked about 5 months pregnant. I said I think so, and then she asked me if I was in labor, I looked at her and said..."I don't know, I have never been in labor before. I don't know what it feels like." It sounds to me like you could be starting labor, but then again maybe the baby is just getting itself into position. If it persists for awhile and starts getting stronger, you may want to call your doctor and see if he/she wants you to come in and be checked out. Good luck and congrats!
your body is getting ready for the big contrctions. Oce you feel really pain full like periods cramps that come every 5-10 minutes you should call the hospital or doctor to let them know. Good Luck!
mother of 2 and 15 weeks pregnant too!
It doesn't sound like it to me. Contractions are more than a "weird tingly feeling". Contractions are so painful they take your breath away. You didn't mention if you have lost your mucus plug or if your water has broken yet. These two are signs that you are probably in labor or will be soon.
Call your Dr. He can answer this in a second!
they could be, drink a glass of water, empty your bladder and lay on your left side and feel your belly, everytime it gets hard count it as one, if you have more than 4 contractions in an hour you should contact your doctor.
good luck to you.
call your doc
Sounds like your body is getting ready. Drink a lot of water and lie on your side or take relaxing bath. But make sure you up your water intake! Believe it or not your uterus is working to dilate or open the cervix, thin it out and soften it in preparation of labor. The more pre-labor work your body does the better!!
