Answer:
What if you took her to school, but went straight to the school nurse before she could go to class. Let the nurse look at it (while you're still there), and if she passes the nurse's test (as in, the nurse doesn't think it's anything contagious) she can go on to class. If the nurse doesn't give her the go-ahead, off she goes to the doctor.
Or, try to get her in to see the doc early, and tell her if he says it's okay, she can go to school after that.
It it's an eye infection or something, I'd hate to have it spreading around school. If it's allergies, or she scratched her eye while she was rubbing it or while something was in it, I'd hate to have her miss school when nothing's seriously wrong.
If you do end up sending her to school, let the teacher and nurse know about it (and that you are aware of it). If they see it as neglect or an unexplained injury, it can cause problems for you. Let them know you know it's swollen, what happened so far (with the rubbing and rinsing it out), and that there hasn't been any discharge, redness or fever, but if any of those things show up, you'll be up there to take her to the doc.
tell her you will take her to the doctors then straight to school after that
Doctor.
The school would send her home anyway.
Is it crusty? It might be pink-eye. And that's contagious.
If you let her go to school like that they may think something bad is going on with her at home.
Go to the Dr. It could be an eye infection (don't need to be spreed around school)
Once she is cleared from the Doc let her go back to school.
stay home and see a doc - if its pink eye its infectious and the teacher wont be charmed when she spreads it all over the school! and if its an infection, if will only get worse at school, with all those germs flying around in pre schools. I say taker her to a doc and if its all ok then drop her at school.
Take her to the doctors, if its pink eye or conjunctivitous then its highly contagious.
I would go see a doctor first. If the doctor says she can go to school after that, you could always drop her off. It may be allergies, in which case she'd be fine to go to school. But it might be pink eye in which case she'll need medicine and is very contagious. You didn't say how old your daughter was, but if she's young they spread that around like crazy. Poor thing! Hope she fees better.
If it is not red and she has just been rubbing it then let her go to school if she wants. It is bad to tell them that they have to stay home every time they get sick because then they learn to fake sick just to stay home in the future. If its not red then it is not pink eye and it can wait until after school, just make her an appointment and take her later.
I think it would be a good idea to keep her home from school, until you find out what exactly is making her eye swell. You shouldnt send her to school with all the other kids not knowing what it could be or if it could be contagious.
Please go to the dr. first. You are the mom.Tell her .Don't let her tell you.
let her go back to school and get the other eye punched.
Take her to a doctor immediately. The eye is a delicate organ and any infection has to be treated immediately. Don't send her to school with a swollen eye as it might get more infected or she might infect others. And ask her not to rub her eyes. It spreads the infection.
You are mom, she stays home from school. Yeah she is crying right now, but she'll forget it by tomorrow. If she has been rubbing it, she is opening little sores which can allow bacteria to get in... (as in at school with a bunch of dirty little kids)... which would cause an infection.
Keep her home, take her to the Doctor, she can go back when the Doctor says she can.
I would say let her go, if it's not bothering her now than she should be fine.if something got in it during the night and she did a lot of rubbing, than it's just irritated. The swelling should go down by the end of the day, but i would let her go and give her eye some time.
Go to "WebMd" site you get some answers there. My self if you washed it out, and she says it feels better. Your probably removed what was in her eye. It will be swollen ,because of all the rubbing. My sister, got some gold plating, from her watch in her eye, while she was sleeping. When she went to the doctor's, all they did was wash it out, and put a patch on it because, she had scratched her eye ball. I think you're fine letting her go to school. Just call or walk in and let them know you know about her condition and will be taking her to the doctor's after school.
