My two year old is going stir crazy,he is bored - any ideas of fun games to play with him to keep him occupied
Answer:
Take all the pillows in the house and build a fort/castle/playground with them.
Use the pillows end to end to make a train track and the two of you crawl on them pretending to be the trains.
Make a tent with a sheet or blanket and a table and/or chairs.
Make cookies together.
Let him "help" you sort laundry by color or dust the furniture with a little rag.
Draw or color with him.
Read some books or make up stories together.
Act out some of his favorite stories. Like you be the wolf and he can be the 3 little pigs.
Make some puppets out of old socks.
play dough is always a good one make you own, let him put the ingredients in the pan, children love playing with things they have made.
1 cup plain flour
1/2 cup salt
2 teaspoons veg oil
2 teaspoons cream of tarter
4 cups of water and the 4th one put food colouring in it.
this is a real winner with my daughter
Get out the cookie ingredients and let him help make some cookies! Give him a little portion of dough to himself to play in. Messy, but the end results are yummy :) I know he is only two, but they like that squishy stuff.
My son loves to bake cookies and clean. haha. I guess it makes him feel big but one day I let him help me do the dishes (this will take about 4 times as long as it would if you did it normally) but he had so much fun he asks me everytime. Also I bought a small vacuum. One of those broom vacs they are only like $10 and he likes to help me vacuum. -it doesn't really vacuum but he likes it. You will be surprised at the things that seem mundane to you they seem to think is great! Plus they like to be praised at what BIG HELPERS they are. Ask him if he wants to be your helper for the day and let him join in on whatever you are doing! Good luck
lots of plastic and finger paints (non toxic).A room full of balloons worked good on our 5 but does not last as long.A toy talking Perot is working good right now!
Sand Box!
.if you get a chair and get him to stand on it and fill the sink with lukewarm water throw a few toys in and let him sl]plash away ,will love it , don't leave him unsupervised especially near water .also spread a few newspapers down floor and let him paint ,my kids used to love this i could get a bit of ironing done while i watched them, anything that involves getting messy seems to work also bake a cake and they can help ,give him a piece of dough let him make shapes roll it out they love it. good luck
Painting will keep him occupied for hours.
I spy! I spy with my little eye something yellow...
hey
why dont u take him outside in the garden or to a park n have a good run around with him it will give him chance to burn a lot of energy and stop him b
eing so naughty.
my little boy is 2 n half it works for him
good luck
hes at the age where he wants to be helpfull ,ask him to help hoover my son loved this also splashing in soapy water,or try making a tent with covers on chairsit just has to be new for them not the same toys
He may be ready for playmates his own age. My son began having the same problems when he was two. He was terribly bored, and started getting into everything! I enrolled him in a day school, and he loved it. He only went for a couple of hours every few days, but it helped him develope friendships. It also prepared him for school. He's now in first grade, and several of his friends from day school are in his class. Do a thorough check if you decide on this option. I was well aquainted with our day school and the teachers there because I had worked there a few years earlier. You may have to try a couple of different ones before you find a good fit. Good luck!
Do you have any toddler groups, stay and plays or toy libraries near you? take him along to some of those if you can they are usually very cheap, £1 membership etc.. Good way for him to do other stuff. Contact your local Children's Information Service (every borough has one) and they should tell you what's on offer in your area. The toy libraries are good as you can get ahim new toys each week without having to buy them and you give them back as he gets bored with them.
Good luck, it's exhausting trying to keep them entertained!!
Join a playgroup, rent some movies, walk around the mall.
play dough, crayons, finger paints - the messier the better!!
I'm not an expert with children, but can you take him out to a park where he can run around and play in mud-puddles and hit things with sticks? I know a puddle or small stream used to keep my sisters and I busy for hours when we were kids.
Fresh air, the park for swings/slides/playing ball, or how about nature walks looking for leaves, acorns etc. Then, when all else fails, cbeebies!
You could make him a tent with an old sheet and a laundry airer and then have a picnic inside, my nephew loves doing that or get him to make some decorations for santa coming.
put down some news paper in the kitchen & get some large sheets of A3 paper & childrens paint (which should come off in wash if smothered over clothes doors etc...and do hand & foot prints!! he will burn all his "naughty energy" and be a little tired cherub by the end of the day!! or... buy a paint your own mug set from toy shops...or make puppets out of old socks & buttons & felt tip pens & then make up a story & make a theatre out of an old box...if you have friends with similar age children invite them over & have a play time/coffee morning with party style food & let them have the run of the garden or set out activitys for you all to enjoy together whether its inside your home or a trip to park/swimming pool!! good luck!!
Well what I have done is found a play group in my area and I take my little girl there once a week . I find that helps alto when she can play with other kids for a couple of hours,,,
Being naughty as a twoo year is getting board even u give them as much as he wants for toy and u r not joining him to play is no use . Atleat some one give time for him to play .
And whenver they want attention they become very naughty.
-Go outside tell him to pick up leaves so that he can stick them on paper, kids love glue!
-Make a tent with a sheet over the sofa.
-Go to the libary
-Let him clean your windows with babywipes, mine love that, messy but s good time waster.
-go the shop and get some plain biscuits and decorate them for xmas.
Anything really!
