I assume the cost for the child is almost nil, but were there unforseen hassles? We're fine with just spending a week in Feb. away from the snow ... walks, reading, maybe shopping in a town, but nothing too exciting etc. Do you think it would be a tremendous hassle?

it doesnt matter about the price. even if they were to pay you i wouldnt recommend it. my mom just took my little bro (the same age) on a plane ride of 12 hrs and she came home exhausted. she said that the week of vacation she enjoyed was used up in those hrs.
