10 month baby nephew?
Answer:
Give him something else that is also healthy for him and bring back the squash in a couple weeks.
Some babies don't like different textures of foods at first and it takes them a while to get used to it. One day it matters, one day it doesn't.
If he's super hungry he may be more likely to eat it than if he's not really hungry.
He hates it! Give him something else. Would you like being forced to eat something you hate? Babies have taste buds, too.
Well, I think the baby is too young to eat squash.
why does he have to eat it? If he doesn't want it, then stop trying to feed it to him. there are plenty of other foods to eat. Imagine how you would feel if someone kept trying to feed you something you didn't want to eat. how does strained squash taste anyway?
Maybe he doesnt like it now.. babies change daily and may like things one day and not the next. Maybe he's in the mood for green beans today. Change his food he will be fine!
He probably wasn't hungry.
Or else he really wants to feed himself, and you were trying to feed him.
My 10 month old gets very upset when we try to spoon feed him when he wants to pick up the food and eat it himself. We've "compromised" by giving him cheerios or shredded cheese or other finger foods and while he's trying to pick them up and eat them, sometimes he'll accept a bite from a spoon.
Are you always in the mood for squash? (eeewwww) or any other food for that matter? No, of course not...he's a person, just a miniature version...some days he feels like squash, some days , it's peas.
If you really want him to eat the squash then try mixing it with another food that he really loves or rice/oatmeal cereal. You can even try mixing it with breastmilk or formula
kids go though phases they like something one day and the next they don't, actually my youngest did the exact same thing your talking about, offer him something else and try the squash another time, as long as over a course of a few days he is getting a varity of yellow/orange, and green veggies, dairy/protien, fruits and grain there is nothing to worry about small children have tiny tummys a few bites fills them up... and as they gett closer to their 1st birthday their rate of growth slows dramitically so the don't need as much as you think. good poops and pee's are a good indicators they he is getting plenty of food
Angle try feeding him other different foods.
no big deal just give him something else why does he need to eat squash? taste buds change as a child grows older and they may go on and off their food
