My almost 3 yr old weighs about 30 lbs...Don't count calories! At this age they turn into picky little eaters...you want them to eat when ever they will...PLEASE don't be one of those calorie counters...or at least don't make your child one!!
When my son eats...he eats what he wants and doesn't eat what he doesn't want...He's growing up so fast and has recently had a growth spurt! Just enjoy her...she'll grow into the weight...IF she was 60 lbs or more I'd be concerned...but she's normal !
She's right. you have to let them eat as much as they want and if they are not eating at least 3 meals and 2 snacks then give her a supplement with meals like pediasure.
Calories mean nothing.
Doctor's say "let them eat what they'll eat". Believe it or not, she knows what she needs, when she needs it, and how much she needs. If she's eating chicken nuggets 6 times a week--it's fine! If all she wants is a few little nibbles here and there--it's fine! She's very in tune with her body and knows what she needs. If she's hungry, she'll tell you. If she doesn't want something, she won't eat it. It's not a matter of calories, it's a matter of letting her eat what she wants and letting her decide when enough is enough.
My girls are all very slim...
They weighed under 20lbs at a year 16-17-and 18lbs.
At 2 they were 25-26lbs.
At 3 two older ones were 26-25 lbs.
At 4 the two older ones were only 35-36 lbs.
If you are concerned about her nutrition you should see if your local pediatric nutritionist has classes or material you can have to educate you on your daughter.
